I'll show you how to fix a laptop that is overheating, by cleaning the fan and changing the thermal paste. I'll also show you how to fix a laptop that is not starting, by checking the battery and turning on the laptop safely. If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms on your laptop, then this video is for you: your laptop is overheating, the fan is not working, or the laptop is not starting.

Bro thats the maximum recorded temperature by the software the current temperature is around 50 degree which is around okay for idle or while doing simple task

I don't think anyone noticed, but the CPU usage was 97% when he showed us the 80°c temp. After applying the thermal paste, he showed us 60°c temp; but the CPU usage was only 37%. So I feel cheated and mislead.

this will only restore the original cooling capacity. it'll probably work well if you have an old laptop that used to not overheat. but if the cooling solution was fundamentally bad from the get go, this isn't gonna help

Same lol, it's less than 1 year old and I've just cleaned it and also reapplied thermal paste, temps drop about 3-4°C when idle but still spikes to 90-100°C when gaming for a while.

For yours, the cooling system is similar to mine, the cpu uses thermal paste, but the gpu *the chip that’s directly on the mobo* uses thermal pads.

Be careful if you have a laptop that uses liquid metal instead of thermal paste. One drop of that liquid metal outside the GPU and CPU copper cooling, the system board is toast.

It is glossy metallic like aluminum foil. It won't be matte or dark silver color.

but if your laptop has it normally they seal the motherboard around it with non conductive band. So companies do know that

Maybe this helps someone have a gaming laptop for around 7 years. Clean fans thermal paste clean vent everything good still over heating. *Needed a battery change*. Worn out battery overheated motherboard and everything else. Went from 65C idle to 38C idle.

@Abujoudofkush3178 from my personal experience, yes. 1. New/Clean Fans ✅️ 2. Air Flow ✅️ 3. Fresh Thermal Paste ✅️ 4. No programs taking up mem/cpu/gpu ✅️ Result #1 = Idle 60 - 65°, in game 98°- crash Checked battery condition (HWInfo/Monitor) - Battery wear level 98% - Battery says fully charged but is performing at 70% of max capacity 1. Changed battery ✅️ - Wear level 0 - 99.9% capacity Result #2 = Idle 35°-38°, in game 78°- 83°

​​@@Abujoudofkush3178 motherboards are built with good thermal conductivity material. Laptops tend to have higher temperature due to limited airflow. So an increase of temperature from one component do effects the others significantly

I have to use my laptop without the backpanel, and keeping on a cooling pad.. If I play without doing this, it heats up & completely freezes, requiring hard shut down.

my 10 year old laptop is hovering around 60c when idle, when gaming even if its only 2D game the cpu goes around 85 - 90c like bro cmon, are my cpu about to fail or smth. Meanwhile the gpu never exceeds 75c edits: yes, even if im playing 3d game (not that it's heavy 3d, it's re4 remaster) the gpu only hover around 60 - 75c cpu: i3 3217u (17watt tdp) with whopping base clock 1.8ghz (no boost clock yes)

Some shops sell them by grams, so if you need little use i recommend buying 1 gram, about 14 bucks, some shops also sell them on packages for the same price and give you things like thermal pads for free, you can use them for your ssd or other things

The best solution for that kind of laptops is Honeywell PTM7950 or Upsiren PCM-1 from ali. Regular paste like that yogibear stuff degrades very fast on those temperatures. Another option is undervolting and restricting the turboclocks a bit with "Throttlestop" on some gaming laptops you can disable the undervolt/overclock lock inside the bios.

Title says easy way to get rid of heat and proceeds to remove his fan from his laptop… also applying new paste on cpu is crazy… I bought a laptop cooler pad on Amazon and now it’s only around 30-40 degrees

That’s not how you clean ur fan. It can damage the motor. Make sure to not make the fan move.

It shouldn't damage it if you unplugged it I think. The danger would be sending voltage back into the laptop (spinning it would basically turn it into a generator.)

Usually if I'm keeping a laptop long term and I use it heavily, I do it every 3-4 years. It might be better to do it after you get a new laptop because you don't know if the paste used is quality or not, or if the laptop was bought used.

@@MrskeleeqweI’m having issues after 6 months 65-70 idles and 95+ gaming I took it apart and the fans don’t look to dirty. Could it be the paste, mine is Liquid Metal cooled and I definitely don’t feel comfortable replacing it considering I could short my laptop

Yea it will damage the motor you should use plastic clippers to hold the fan and then brush it

If the fan is removed then yes, it's alright. It won't damage the motor. You don't want to spin it when it's connected however because it can send voltage back into the system and cause a short.

mine reaches almost 99°C No kidding! and i'm affraid to to DIY my pc and end up breaking something! + our regional "PC technicians" most likely will break something in your PC trying to fix it! so you end up with a new problem

@simonwinkler7299 its like 45-49C here. I even contacted HP support and they sent me a replacement laptop and it still goes to 110C. Besides, most laptop processors are rated for a tj max of 105 to 110C. It is not advised to run at these high temps but usually companies dont give a shit about cooling unless you are paying 800usd+ for a laptop
