Remember not to let that experience effect your opinion of the band. Nick Holmes said something pissy at me at a Paradise Lost gig, They were on my shit list for a while but now I listen to their stuff in the same way I did when I was younger.

Birth A.D. is an awesome "new" band. I say "new" because they already existed since the 80s(!) but never released anything until now. You might know some of the members from other bands as well... "Stillbirth of a Nation" is a great record.

@OldSchoolMetalHead1 agreed. for the most part, new school thrash bores me but old school thrash just kicks my ass every time. There's only two new school thrash bands that have really impressed me. Evile and Godslave. Evile: check out the All Hallows Eve EP and Enter the Grave. Godslave's debut album, 'Into the Black' just came out last month and it's seriously awesome. New school thrash with all the spirit of old school thrash.

Guys, the Big 4 are the Big 4, and will remain as it is. That doesn't mean that Overkill is a worse band. On the contrary, Blitz & Co. are probably much better than Anthrax and more consistant than Metallica and Megadeth. But hey, the Big 4 will stay as it is, they've got a larger number, no debate. Is Overkill a worse band? No, Overkill kicks motherfuckin' ass.

there are only very few new Bands that are really great (Spellbound from Germany, Angelus Apatrida from Spain, Hyades from Italy...) most of them just fail at being Oldschool.It's great that they try it and love this music, but u just can't be as great as th real oldschool shit. And that's the point: Even Overkills "weak" records are fuckin great and much better than most of ther newer Thrash Stuff...
