A roof tent is a great idea! A friend of my sister had a rude awakening one morning as a lioness was busy dragging him, in his sleeping bag, off into the bush! Thankfully he scared her off.

Through my childhood and into young adulthood my family camped on all our vacations. We couldn’t afford to vacation any other way. My Dad built a trailer we called Rock and Roll to carry all the stuff. One of my sisters hated camping. Something always happened to her...like the skunk the curled up next to her warm bottom, the rat which sat in her foot, etc. Poor thing. I feel very lucky to have had these experiences. Saw wild wolves, bears, mountain lions, etc. learned so much from my father who loved nature.

Yeah...my Mom was screaming at my Dad to shoot the skunk before it gave my sister rabies. My Dad was calmly explaining a) it was too close to my sister b) if Mom kept yelling it would scare the skunk who would spray my sister and my sister freaking out over the whole bite the butt get rabies issue. It was not funny for my sis but very funny to me!

I'm an American but lived in Botswana for 12 years. I love that country, the Batswana, the wildlife. I love to travel throughout the country. It always seems you can run into someone you know at the airport. It's a special place. Watching you braai, made me wonder. It's a huge question that I hope you can help me answer. When two South Africans are braaiing together at a neutral site. Who is in charge? ;) We live in South Africa now and I've learned from experience that even if I invite South Africa friend over for a braai, I will let him take over. That way no one is stressed and the cooking is still done to perfection.
