Going south from Grants is the way we take to our property in AZ! We have been to Chain of Craters/El Malapais before and loved it! We have pictures of the windmill you camped next to. Lol!! We hiked part of the Continental Divide trail while we were there, and yes, the cairns were hard to spot in some areas. So happy you guys checked out that area! - Misti

I was on a solo trip several years ago and hit the lava tubes. Thankfully I also hit RECORD on my phone (Gaia GPS) because you are totally correct. You miss a cairn or two and you are seriously lost in that lava maze. At least I could backtrack and soon got reoriented. Such a unique area. Will be following along.

It is Very hard to identify landmarks in there for sure. A GPS is pretty much a must.

Another great western adventure. I went to your Amazon page and did not see a section on what video equipment you use to record your adventures with.
@CoddiwompleOverland2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, we will add that section to Amazon today! Thanks for the suggestion

All I could think about watching this great adventure was how much the fuel costs will be. Sad indeed.
@CoddiwompleOverland2 жыл бұрын
For the 21 days we were about $2500. In fuel, Sad indeed.

Did the Smartcap roof vent leak any in that hard rain? I haven’t mine out yet in anything that wet
@CoddiwompleOverland2 жыл бұрын
No it did not.

That’s was probably a $1500.00 gas bill. But looks worth it!

The whole 21 days was about $2500. Bit where else can 2 people do a 3 week vacation for that price?
