Would love to figure out a tent that covers the truck bed. Let us know if you ever find a solution!

Now that’s a Baja done right! Loving the build so far, looking forward to seeing what you do in the Future.

Great job of showing that people don't need $2,500 roof top tents to overland! and you may have thought about it already but I have a bi-level plywood storage shelf in the bed of my baja with some walmart under bed shoe totes acting as drawers and that's been a great place to keep tools and such separate from other things but still easy to get to. Also I highly recommend putting your spare in the factory location, I had to bend the guide rails a bit for it to fit but it sits slightly higher than the trailer hitch in mine and my tires are a tiny bit bigger at 225/70/R16

That's a great idea with thr bi-level storage Jim! Maybe I'll look into doing something like that as well!

I put a used hitch on my Baja a few days ago.. I had all the hardware but no instructions on which spacer went where. It was definitely more difficult than expected fumbling the different bolts and spacers. Lol
@AdventureGT2 жыл бұрын
Yea, it kinda blew my mind that there were so many spacers to make it work lol.

I wish I knew you were looking for an awning...just sold my Tuff Stuff Awning yesterday. CVT had an IG post of someone with a Baja who had a bed rack with an RTT on it. Looking forward to the vids.

Aw dang! That's to bad. No worries But I'll totally look into the bed rack. I've him post in the baja owners club. Would love to have a roof top tent as well! Episode one should post this Monday though!

Love what you've done with the Baja. Looking forward to the upcoming videos. I just found out my rear transmission mount is worn out. Shouldn't be too hard to replace. You might consider checking yours if you're doing a lot of overlanding..
@AdventureGT2 жыл бұрын
Thanks man, I really appreciate it! I actully replaced the mount when I did the motor swap. It's crazy how much vibration you can get with a bad mount. Thinking about getting an ADF insert for it though. Or swapping to Group N mounts.

Both are solid options especially with your new set up.

Those mattresses take up half of your storage! Really should switch to something way smaller and lighter.
@AdventureGT2 жыл бұрын
They totally do! But they were so worth it 😂 in the videos to come up. We used them quite a bit. There's a clam shell root top ten in our future and the mattress will be able to say rolled out in the tent at all times I'm hoping!

Looking forward to see where you go. Does the full sized spare not fit in the factory location? I know on ours a 225/55/17 fit. It had a matching full sized spare the entire time we had it.
@AdventureGT2 жыл бұрын
It totally would have fit. I honestly was worried about departure angle. I did slap my trailer hitch on a rock though 😂

Cool setup! What are those codes at the bottom of the description?

Hey thanks man! And those are just codes for copy right music haha

Looking at my brothers forester, it has the shipping tie downs but 90 deg different then yours, any reason I can't just weld on some reinforcement around it?
@AdventureGT Жыл бұрын
Not entirely sure when it comes to foresters, since there's a bunch of generations. But those tie down bolt holes should be reinforced with spot welded metal from the back side. I would maybe cut a patch out to see what's behind the area to make sure there's some meat to weld onto. Other wise you may rip those anchors out using an excessive payload. Hope it helps!
