Awesome video Shane! When you are pouring (small amount) of epoxy, do you use respirator for the fumes or is this not needed unless doing larger epoxy pours?

Excellent video, Shane! I agree with you 100% about running the v-bit before the clearance tool. I've had the same experience, and now I do it the same way. One tip for you: To go into and out of Node Editing, you can just press the N key on your keyboard.

Great video! Came across one of your videos a while back and was hoping you would make a video explaining the process. I’ve done some one and two color epoxy inlays and some wood inlays, but nothing like what you do. What I love about this is the endless choice of colors. Thanks so much for the tutorial.

Shane, thank you so much for taking the time to do these videos! You have gotten me so excited to do Epoxy inlays. I have done one project- American flag. Worked out pretty good except one corner milled down to the white base layer (:. So I will redo with your tips. For this flag, do I just use overlay one color where it intersects with another color? THANK YOU! Your are THE MAN of EPOXY! Mike M
@shaneshardwood63212 жыл бұрын
Yes, you overlap the early pours into the later pours to always have that nice clean line of color to color and no chance of anything in between. Thank you for the kind words!! Make sure to message me on IG with the pics! would love to see them, Mike!
@michaela4141 Жыл бұрын
Love the video. Is the overlapping only required when three colors of epoxy meet? Is it required with two colors of epoxy meeting?

Love the work and sharing your wisdom. What color do you use for skin tone?
@shaneshardwood63212 жыл бұрын
It really just depends on which skin tone. I have a weird ability to just use primary colors along with black or white to get to most colors just by eye. People say I’m lucky that way, however, I’d had have been happier if I had been gifted the power of flight or turning invisible 🤦🏻♂️

Great video! So many people are so tight lipped about their work. How much do you typically charge for your masterpieces? Do you have a formula? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Excellent video. I always learn from your experience. Got a question regarding the VCarve cut. Do you get a lot of jammed chips on that first pass? I did the "Vectric" sign from your presentation at Vectric user conference. Now working on a 3 - color logo. There is a great deal to learn about colors. Maroon on a black background doesn't work very well....
@shaneshardwood63212 жыл бұрын
That can definitely happen, one trick is to run the path a second time, but you can run it much faster. That usually works for me!
@fredfloyd69572 жыл бұрын
@@shaneshardwood6321 When I tried re running the pass and it is clearer. Had to dig out the chips with a pick, but cut is just fine.. Thanks for the advice.

Hi Shane, I just found your videos today and I am both impressed and inspired. What brand of epoxy do you use and how close to the photo actual colrs can you get with the epoxy color additives? Thank you and looking forward to more of your projects.

Hello Shane have been watching you on Mark Lindsay’s live stream a quick question if you can help, is a pocket depth of .125 deep enough for a guitar fretboard it is a straight pour no over lapping vectors.
@shaneshardwood63212 жыл бұрын
sorry for delay! yes, plenty deep enough!!
@mikejackson33202 жыл бұрын
Hi Shane, thanks for the tips and videos as well as your time today with Rob and Mark. How do you get around the errors for intersecting nodes? As I look at your different color overlapping lines I am assuming you would receive error message. I do on my project s. Thanks in advance. Great work!!!
@shaneshardwood63212 жыл бұрын
Mike, I definitely get those and since I'm such a "caveman" when it comes to this stuff I just always ignore the message and everything comes out fine. I would love to know what I could do about that as well, as it almost always happens. The one trick is to make sure you eliminate all open and duplicate vectors before each toolpath is calculated, then it seems like whatever that other error of "might not cut correctly" )or whatever it says) doesn't hurt anything at all. Let me know if you can!

approx how long after a pour of 1 color until you cut for the 2nd?
@shaneshardwood63212 жыл бұрын
Since I have 5-13 projects being cut on machine each day, I always have about 24-48 hours between needing to cut again. However, with most 1:1 epoxies you can just wait 20-24 hours. With the WestSystem 5:1 105/205 set up, you can usually cut again in about 4-6 hours, depending on temperature conditions in your epoxy pouring room.
