Garden of Sinners is very cool. The order it was released in was to be as interesting as possible if I'm remembering right. But its an awesome series that has the urban horror/fantasy vibe of early Type Moon works like Tsukihime, Melty Blood, early Fate and Mahoyo. Movie 5 is a standout too, can't wait for you to reach that one

You'll want to keep an eye out for the Witch on the Holy Night movie coming this year, that story is the foundation to Tsukihime and Kara no Kyoukai and it also gives quite a bit of insight into Touko's family (especially her sister), in addition to just being a really good story.

This was Ufotable's first big work that put them on the map I think, until the Fate stuff later

excited for this! release order is good choice. like parts of a puzzle slowly coming together is a big appeal and something I liked a lot going through it. totally normal for things to seem unclear at first

On the visuals and Ufotable's production: As I understand it, before this they had pretty much just done more minor series and some co-productions with other studos. They weren't thought of badly, but they weren't really on the map. KnK was kind of a passion project for them. Ufotable approached Nasu/Type Moon and basically said "hey, we really like this... can we"? KnK itself was a relatively early work and quite amateurish compared to the more well known Nasuverse stuff at the time which was already pretty huge. Series of (originally at least) web novels and you can see the roots of a lot of Type Moon archetypes and concepts within it. They basically got the go ahead to do the first move and see how it went. What we got was Overlooking View and it was ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL. in terms of quality against budget. Pretty much got people to go "Wait... what? WOAH!" and put Ufotable on the map They got the go ahead to continue and also got Fate/Zero off the strength of their work here.
