Some important info going into this is that it takes place in between episodes 7 and 8 of season 4 giving much needed context to why the Sorcerer Kingdom destroyed Re-estize. Also the translation they're going with this is the "Sacred Kingdom" but the correct translation is Roble Holy Kingdom, and that Sacred Kingdom is just another translation for it. So when they call it the Sacred Kingdom they're talking about the Roble Holy Kingdom

Would you guys be interested in doing reactions to the Overlord lore videos on Aninews, like how strong is Ains, Demiurge explained, cut content from season 4, and much more. About the teaser, get ready to meet some new characters you'll learn about, and if they have time in the movie you'll find an eye patched rifle toting battle maid making an appearance.

I can't wait for the movie! This is a movie adapting what's considered the best arc in the series and peak of OVERLORD for most of the readers of the novel currently. as well as the most brutal and darkest arc. It's not too surprising that this arc is a movie because there is a lot of fights and very brutal scenes. The better animation and less censorship is definitely worth it for this arc because of how messed up it is. Also, this arc/movie chronologically takes place between season 4 episode 7 and 8. so after the dwarfs, but before re-estize kingdom destruction. It is kind of its own arc revolving around what Demiurge has been up to in a distant kingdom. I'm really hoping they don't skip alot of content and give it at the very least over 2 hours in the movie. This movie is adapting an entire 2 entire volumes, also being one of the biggest volumes. Which means if adapted perfectly, this would make a good 3 and half hour movie. but that isn't going to happen obviously. I'm just really holding out hope its around 2 hours and 30 minutes.

This is definitely a continuation of the story. Just not from the point season 4 left it off, so no destruction of Re-Estize at that moment 😅

It's most likely Pandora's actor being shot out of the sky so that Ainz Ooal Gown can see if there are Players acting against him. We know Ainz been looking for them every since their game world has been transported to that realm. Anyway, I can't wait for the movie this fall.
Ah Demiurge, the expert torturer, rapist and right hand man of our boy and dictator Ainz, is getting center stage here in this film. Hopefully they don't censor too much from the books, as this arc is currently in my top three in the entire Overlord series. But given the anime's track record I'm not expecting much. We'll see.

@@TheHeckOfficial Technically Ainz isn't that much better, as I said in my previous comment that the man is a dictator, though the anime kind of rushed through many of the more darker moments in the series. And Seeing peoples reactions to the Overlord anime being meh really saddens me when I think about how bad the the anime adaption was for it, and many Overlord anime only fans won't truly experience all the magic the light novel series has to offer, since Overlord is love by many light novel fans for these primary reasons: 1)Main villain as a protagonist - Unlike most isekai shows where the main character is morally good for the most part, Ainz is UNDOUBTEDLY a villain, since one of his goals is to try to dominate this new world. For instance, in Season 1 when Ainz was prepared to murder Niferea in when his identity as Momon was almost found out. Another example, is the UNPROVOKED attack on the lizard men led by Ainz in season 2 that cost countless lives for their species, and it was all done for experimentation for Ainz, it's also worth keeping in mind that the ONLY reason that Ainz decided to show mercy to the Lizardmen was due to Coctyus's request, which led to the situation we are in now where the Lizardmen aren't following Ainz now out of love, but fear, since they know first hand what he and his army of Nazarick are capable of, and we see more of that fear being shown from them in the later volumes. Next, is the attack on Re Estize kingdom led by Demiruge, which again, similar to the Lizardman was an UNPROVOKED attack led by Ainz crew that caused the death of not only countless soldiers of the kingdom, but men AND children as well. Heck, Demiurge kidnaps women and FORCES them to cross breed with other species for experimentation, which is essentially rape, and Ainz will NEVER actively punish him for it, since in the Light Novel he's stated time and time again that the denizens of Nazarick will ALWAYS have more value then the people of this new world. So here we have protagonist that's caused genocide for his own SELFISH reasons, and will CONTINUE TO DO SO in future arcs, and has subordinates that aren't above doing more bad things, such as rape ( Demiurge, and Shalltear fall into this rape category, though over 90% of the denizens of Nazarick are evil beings that enjoy the suffering of humans, just don't rape them with a few exceptions like Sebas who is morally good) so all this effectively makes Ainz a dictator on the same level as Hitler. However, what seperates Ainz from MANY other villains in fiction is that he isn't one dimensional as we see the man show compassion for those around him, even if it's primarily reserve with those in Nazarick, and he also has flaws in the fact that he struggles to be a competant leader for them, Making him a complex villain, up there with Griffith. It's a change of pace to what I usually see and it's glorious. 2) Foreshadowing- Many of the major events are set up in earlier parts of the story like how Ninya's death at the hands of Clementine played a role in Ainz rare act of compassion to someone outside of Nazarick in sparing Tuare is a great example of this. And there were many foreshadowing threads in season 3 season that will play a MAJOR role in future arcs, Seriously, I'll never forget reading the predictions people made in earlier volumes, with MANY of them being spot on in the more recent volumes due to all the seeds the author planted in those earlier volumes, which is great story telling. 3) world building- I could write an essay on how much world building was axed from the anime, and I don't know where to start so I won't bother lol. Personally I feel the anime fails at most of this since ALOT of the character moments are either brushed over or are outright glossed over, and that's in addition to skipping MANY of the world building elements. You KNOW it's bad when whenever there's a reaction video of Overlord on youtube, you have people in the comments of said videos writing LITERAL paragraphs explaining what was skipped on EACH episode, not as a whole season, and episode per video. It's bad. Then there's the animation itself, which there isn't much to speak of, and that's not even mentioning the god awful CGI. Overall, a terrible adaption, which is a shame because the light novels are so good, and REALLY dark in terms of tone, for instance, like going into more detail about Demiurge's breeding experiments ( many of the denizens of Nazarick are aware of this by the way, they just don't care that he's doing it, since they consider humans to be inferior to them), and Shalltear's weird and horrifying sexual fantasies ( she enjoys sexually assaulting women), or Ainz lack of sympathy for humanity as a whole, and how that's explored when he commits genocide. And the books go into far more detail on all of this. It's to the point that I feel that anime fans, and light novel fans are getting entirely different experiences.
