I won't be more specific, because I don't want to spoil anyone, and because anyone who's read it will know exactly what I'm talking about: I mourned for days. Felt it like a personal loss. Actually got physically ill with grief.

I don't think I'll ever be able to read this book tbh. I've been sitting here crying along with you so I can't even imagine how hard I'd cry trying to actually read the book.😭

tbh i think reading a little life in a shorter time is the move bc i read this over the entire month of march and it quite literally ruined my entire month... there wasn't one day in march that i didn't feel hopeless 😭😭😭

as someone who's read it twice, once within days, once over two months; longer is better because it's way too much all at once. (for me anyways!)
@breaavril8 ай бұрын
@@MorningGlimmerLibrary i guess it just depends on the person because i would have preferred being sad for one week over feeling hopeless for an entire month 😭

It took me 2 months to read this book, I could only take so much at a time. I have been in a reading slump for 2 months now. I feel almost numb or as if there’s a sheet between me and my emotions, like my brain is blocking out this book as to prevent a mental breakdown. he he

Owl Criticism made a really excellent video essay on a little life critiquing it, obviously, you said you loved it, which is cool, im not going to say you're wrong for that, but i feel like he brings up a lot of points that are interesting as he dives into the controversy, especially his own thoughts on the book, which i think are important since he is a queer man, i just think its a good watch and totally worth checking out just to see another perspective

The author brags about not doing any research into trauma/sh before writing the book and said that people who cry after reading it are "pussies" - it's beautifully written but it is also poorly researched trauma porn :(
