I just gotta say I love your KZbin name "Chilly Bin HIkes". So good.

Thanks for watching. I got the trail name Chilly Bin during my Pacific Crest Trail thru hike in 2018 and it stuck pretty well 😀

Oh goodness! Thankfully you weren't too far from the van and dry clothes. Lovely track, dreadful conditions. Happy tramping!

It certainly made for an exciting end to the trip! We've been very lucky with weather for the rest of the summer so we can't complain too much 😀

Very nice. Is there a way to heat the hut? The trail looked like the AT with the water running down it. Good Luck, Rick

The hut had no heating. Wood burners are often installed in huts at or below the bushine, some above the bushline have gas heating or fuel for a wood burner brought in by helicopter, but this one had neither. I expect it is very very cold there in winter!

@@ChillyBinHikes I figured that the huts have an emergency shelter function and expected a heating ability. Maybe a locker "For Emergency Use Only" with a heater and some blankets. I hope that you both had fun. Good Luck, Rick

Bummer about the Glacier view. Hope your knee is just a minor thing! Beautiful country!

@@richardross7219 I for one haven't seen a NZ hut with an "For Emergency Use Only" locker. The Hut itself will keep you out of rain & wind, just a matter of bringing enough warm layers & keeping them dry i guess, it is the nice thing with a smaller space like a tent, biv, show cave thy heat up from body heat a lot easier
