I have been leveling to 100 (at 92 now) with the earlier, tamer version of Bone Spirit (minion-free, Blight + Bone Prison, Bone Storm, Decrep, etc). Enjoying it a lot, my gear is fair-to-okay, but it's starting to fray around the edges a bit, especially as I push past L30 or so in the Pit. Out of curiosity, wanted to do something with the Deathless Visage instances that keep dropping on me, so I rearranged some things to keep me at the armor cap, dropped Blood Mist, added deathless Visage and Bone Spear. It helps that I found a pair of +4 Bone Spear gloves. I am finding this buys me a LOT of wiggle room with trash as my Bone Spirit cooldown management is still suboptimal. Completely melts mobs; still exploring the boss dynamics. I have all the uniques for the build you describe here, and it looks like a blast, so I will probably give it a spin pretty soon. Thanks again. Really appreciate you keeping us up to speed as your own thinking about these builds evolves.

The bug section was really helpful, i play bone spirit/spear hybrid and now I understand why my cooldowns on bone prison and bone storm goes down so fast ! Decrep isn't even required for that build anymore (apart for damage multipliers..) and I can't stand having to put on every necro build. I'll try to implement some of your ideas (requiem aspect mostly with bone prison) for that build ! Thanks for that great explanation as usual.

Thx man With your Parangon, I can reach 1 billion damage I was stuck with King Pig build (WR Pit 120 with Bone spirit build) with just 500-700M per hit. Now, I think I can beat the WR with your parangon and some advise coming from King Pig build ! :D I wonder if aspect of ossified essence can be switched by aspect which spawn pool of blight under bone prison. It can be proc 20% damage multiplier and proc more often cooldown reduction from Decrepify (with damage per second). I will test to use Reapers instead of protectors skeletons to have a lot of more corpses with passive of reapers The build need to use raise all the time so Reapers can be easily stay alive or be reanimated

The recommended boots, helm and chest piece is really really difficult to find. Even regurlarly checked item trading sites. The rest I got pretty much together. Can't wait to try it out ! Update: Tried it out. Survivability seems to be an issue. Most things one hit me at tier 100+ even normal trash mob hits at armor and resistance cap and around 30k HP. I can hit around 400-600 mio, which is nice though. Will play around with it a bit more.

I do think 3 points for all of what Bone storm offers (Especially with the updated Shielding Aspect) is a HUGE amount of value, but if you're already going to run the corpse tendrils aspect and possibly the Crit for Bone spirit aspect, then i would agree with you, you don't "need" it.

mmm interesting, i only use the skeletal defenders with 99% damage reduction and blood getter aspect + gruesome mending passive (i hate to use potions for healing) still i was able to do 300-400m per overpower bone spirit with non optimized gear, also conceited aspect instead swelling curse for more damage with bone storm but also my board is different too

Hi so i tested the build, i make more dmg with shadow minions because of the 7 essence so its 35 essence. i tested with sacrifice the mages, but the dmg numbers way higher with them and the essence plus and iam always above 275 essence. so more dmg and consistent dmg, not every second hit without

Using your Bone Necro build on Maxroll with a couple tweaks. How much Cooldown Reduction do you have because I'd like to potentially drop Cooldown Reduction on my amulet for Essence per Second, but I noticed without Cooldown Reduction, even when casting Decrepify, there is still a pesky 1-2 second cooldown on Bone Spirit

Bone spirit always have been a very gear intensive, end game build. But contrary to blight and minions, I dont believe its worth to switch for, just for trying, if you dont meet exaclty the required stats

well, this build can hit 1billion bone spirit damage, I just managed to get that on mine and the gear is good but not optimal. that was with bone storm. I then tried adding in some fun with the bone prison as per your idea @macrobioboi and holy fuck, i managed to grab a video and a screenshot of a 1.5 billion hit on a dummy... WTF! however, for pits I can't imagine surviving without bone storm, but damn, that prison extra essence pushed me to 322 max essence and that apparently somehow boosted the damage like nuts to a 1.5B hit.... holy cow, I didn't think it would hit THAT hard

Im really curious about sacrificing mages. The bonus you get is for an additive overpower damage increase. Using shadow mages gets you 5 mages at x3% damage each on top of the 7 essence for each mage. This 35 essence also gives us x4% on bone spirit. I feel like this has a significantly higher impact on our damage. What are your thoughts?

None* of your sacrifices are additive bonuses. They're all new multipliers. Don't trust your character screen stats.

Did you take the single most gear intensive setup and suggest that you add another avenue of scaling to it? I think you did. Buddy... if you can stack enough greater affixes and tripple crit them to test your meme, go ahead. Keep in mind that the mages will die in instantly.

Can anyone explain to me how in his gameplay parts of the video, MacroBioBoi has full fortify? I haven't played necro much (lately, it's been sorc, for me and when I played necros before, they were always Blood) and I can't get my fortify to do much of anything following this build. I listen to the vid multiple times a day while I play, scour the paragon board planner, etc in case I am missing something but no luck so far. I am not finished with the build though. Have a LOT of better gear to get, etc but none of that will up fortify gain. I only see one lil passive in the skill tree for fortify gain and it isn't doing much of anything that I can see since the node also requires lucky hit but there is none of that in the build. I think I am just missing something? First time I have tried using a build from Macro so reserving judgement until I have finished paragon boards but I feel like I am missing something.

You can use reaper skeletons to generate corpses and that generates fortify, of you're currently struggling to do so.

Any potential going beyond 1 billion hits? Considering dps, it still is not as good as other meta builds, though I really like the idea of bone spirit, always wanted to run it and this season is the most close implementation of my ideal that became possible. But if we can’t scale the damage further it seems that it will just get stuck at some point unfortunately. I assume without any buffs and updates for the necro this is not possible, right? Really wish necro gets more aspect slots like barb does…

I was playing around with shadowblight key passive and it seemed to get bigger bonus for the damage, but then we got a problem with the uptime of that passive which won’t be reliable for the single target if we don’t get a way to generate a tremendous amount of shadow damage per second. And also how much of a bonus does ossified key passive give you when you have 270 essence? Maybe it will be closer to the bonus of the shadowblight if you have more essence because my alt had around 200 for the test.

i think with absolutely perfect gear you can squeeze out a 2B hit (using bone prison and no bone storm) -- but as far as I can see that's just about the cap. I guess unless somebody finds a completely new and unknown multiplier that nobody else thought of so far, that's just the end of how far this can be scaled. I managed a 1.5B hit and I have i think another 4 skill ranks I could squeeze in with all tripe MW crits on the gear, and I have a bit more int to gain with all greater affixes, and I guess in the trial i was not fully fortified so that could scale a bit better still. plus maybe the overpower incense to get another little multiplier on top.... so yeah, you can drive this up into probably over 2B, but anything like the double or even tripe digits billions i don't see any way.

@@Devilchylde ohh, then do that instead. I don't get one shot at 35k except for big shadow boss attacks. So I don't think we're talking about actual one shots, and instead, dying quickly. But you need to dodge stuff eventually.

@@Devilchylde Well it is strictly better than Minion builds this season, and pushes further. But yes, when you get into the ultra endgame, you need to sacrifice survivability for damage and you will get one-tapped by the damage scaling of the pit. It's easier to feel tankier on minions, which you can also do here. Just sacrifice damage output for Max Life. If you're personally dying, put on more defensives.
