As a Mavs fan, I wasn’t too high on Lively based on the little preseason I watched, but watching last night the dudes got hustle and heart and is willing to go hard. It’s the same things I saw in Brunson and Green but I feel like DL will have more opportunity as a rookie!

Pacers as always are majorly slept on. This year could be an insane year. Anyone can go off for 25+. Can go 12 deep. Their third string are viable starters. McConnell came in at the END of the game. That’s how deep the guards are for Indy. Cannot wait to see Haliburton continue to blossom with these young guys.

What gets me about the bulls is the player meetings. We heard it last year and right away we see it again. The players are done with our coaching staff and there needs to be a major shakeup, ive been ready for 2 years to blow up the team its time to commit and fire everyone and trade anything with value.

Man I know the Celtics didn’t look the absolute best, but Porzingis looks scary on that team. He was going crazy. 30 points and 4 blocks is wild. Knocking down threes from 3 feet behind the arc. Once that team gels they are going to be hard to beat. Shout out to the Knicks for a great game. Quickley is the real deal. Give that man his money!

The Spurs were killing y’all until late in the third. It took the Spurs kinda falling apart offensively for the Mavs to pull ahead. Frankly, as a Spurs fan, I was not impressed.

@aricrudd6579 you say it was the spurs falling off offensively, I say it was the mavs finally locking in defensively. It's probably a little bit of both, but look at how the mavs played defense in the first half vs the second. The mavs played better as the game went on. If you haven't watched the mavs, you don't know how big a deal that is. The mavs haven't really been a good crunch time team. Luka usually comes out guns blazing and scores 15-20 in the first quarter and then slowly builds up to his usual 30 over the next 3. But he was actually giving effort on defense and pushing pace late in the game and that's not something that's happened very often in the past, especially the defense part. If the mavs played the first half the way they played the 2nd, Spurs are probably kept to around 105 points and it's a near blowout win. Yes, this is a huge overreaction to say that mavs will play like that every game going forward, but I'm so hyped to see not just the team, but Luka actually try to fix the things they were bad at in the past.

@@mikenickerson9640 I think the offense takes a slight step back, Ant's level of shot making is great but not at Dames level, and Shaedons isnt consistently where it needs to be. I could see a fringe-ish top 10 offense. Defensively I think Scoot will buy in, DA will buy in, and we have capable defenders. The turning point comes from our wing defense outside of 'Tisse. Camara needs to have the minutes and prove ready, Shaedon needs to want to play defense, and Ant needs to take some leadership and help get the team some stops.

Imo as a wolves fan something that really needs to be watched is coach finch’s coaching in general imo he has interesting line ups that work sometimes. But for me I just think he can’t do Xs & Os to save his life. Also allowing Ant and Kat to repeatedly do ISO for 24 seconds and chuck up a bad shot is crazy to me. Really keep an I out for the play calls and sets

I knew it!!! Derrick Lively had all the physical intangibles to be great. Bro had more paint presence than Wemby. Perhaps a tad more physically mature. Lively I thought would win the starting 5 job in preseason. But he def won it in game 1. He’s gonna be a a 2 way rim runner. Thats fine, the athleticism allows for that. As he ages, he got an okay set shot. Soon I’d like to see him space and hit corner 3’s. Plus give room for Luka and kyrie to attack the paint. Lively has potential to be a top 10-15 Center in todays game. Perhaps more.
