Yes. This is the right answer. Wilson might be on the down side of his career and sure, he's a bit of a dweeb, but he's a decent human being. The Browns only real chance at going anywhere is over, and it was Joe Flacco driving that bus.

When there are people I know who don't watch football and the know who "the womanizer" is, that's a bad situation and contract. They can't even get out of it. It's fully guaranteed. At least Wilson played during his contract lol. Watson is still sitting most of his. I guarantee he sais his shoulder is ruined, take his money and disappears.

The trade itself is bad but only arguably the worst. The extension, without seeing Wilson in a single regular season game with his new team, IS MOST DEFINITELY the top 2 worst contracts, depending on the ending of the Watson saga in Cleveland.

When I think "Starting QB," I don't think of a backup who starts due to injury, nor a borderline player that ends up benched after 3 weeks of piss poor play. When I hear the term "starting QB," I think "QB1, top of the depth chart, OUR GUY." Jimmy G will never be that ever again. He'll be a backup and probably end up starting games down the line, but that's not a "Starting QB!" That's a lucky reserve!

The Russell Wilson trade isn't that bad. The completely unneeded and unasked for contract extension was really bad. But what makes this whole mess legendarily bad is that Wilson did indeed return to form (check the stats) and then they bench him and are probably cutting him. This past season was the old Russ (who was good but never great) and their reaction to this shows they had no clue how Wilson actually played football before they traded for him, they traded for him off of hype (let Russ cook!) and highlights and didn't do their homework in actually watching his game film. A complete clusterf*ck made by the utterly incompetent people running the Broncos.
@Freddie7191
@Freddie7191 4 ай бұрын
Russell Wilson did not return to form at all. He played passably, but his stats were inflated by his team getting 5 turnovers a game for half the season. If he had been anything near his old self, the Broncos would have averaged 30 a game over the season with how many turnovers they were getting.

There's a difference between being a starter and being a backup who has to start a few games. So, maybe Jimmy's days as a day 1 starter are over. Most of the examples Rich gave were actually backup QBs who had to start games when the starter got hurt or didn't perform. They were still backups. The real recent example is Geno Smith. His days as a starter were over, and now he's earned it back

Have to see why he took them. To build muscle? I seriously doubt it. More likely to speed up healing as he was wanting to get back. That's what steroids were intended for. Donzf always assume someone takes steroids is trying to get stronger. Many different forms of steroids. Anabolic are are rapid muscle growth. The NFL is too obtuse to look at the difference.

I forgot which sport did this. But i remember that an american sports league had their all star game conference vs conference. Not saying thats what it should be, but it was a way to make the game relevant for the league, especially its biggest stars and competitors.

Did you see the rising stars games? That format works much better. That game was competitive, maybe just because it was young players trying to make a name for themselves, but the format also helps. If they want to keep the All Star game, they should do the same thing. 4 teams with 7-8 players (that would also mean a few more all stars, so less snubs). Same target score format. Team selection can either go back to captains drafting players or like the rising stars make up some criteria to keep it interesting every time. The additional players should be decided based on other criteria (best defenders, best 6th man, etc.), maybe get some players who aren't just established big names. At the very least, the target score would mean the game won't go on forever and be so boring.

Baseball is the only All-Star game that is good. Every pitcher wants to come out and strikeout the other guy, and the hitter wants to show up the pitcher. MLB All-Star game is easily the most similar to a regular game than every other All-Star game. Also, pay the extra $20 for preferred parking at Dodger Stadium, Rich. It's fantastic. Close to the stadium, not a lot of walking through the parking lot, if that's what you're afraid of, and easy entry to the lot (depending on the route you take to the stadium [because the route in the parking lot runs clockwise]). Then a pretty easy exit from preferred, again depending on what lot you're in (and I don't want to flat out say what lot for my own leisure and sanity).

The all star game over reaction was framed in the wrong way. The issue is not that the players don’t want to put forth effort. They don’t want to have a career ending injury in a meaningless under paid game. If the winning team split say 25 million per player, winner take all, there might be a more realistic game. Player wise and coaching wise. The players and coaches are compensated as though the game is a charity event; therefore the play is like the play see at charity events.

You acting like most of those all-star players arent on mega-contract FULLY GUARANTEED or something. If they are on their contract year and still not having an extension, then sure. But most of these players are on 4-5 years extension with 40-50mil/year, so what are we talking about? We barely see career ending injury in NBA nowadays, and if its a freak accident then it could just happen in the regular season games as well, so we should also cut down the amount of games in the regular season? I would argue the ASG is carry more meaning to the NBA brand than ANY regular season game, and if they want to take out 2-3 games from the regular season to let players commit harder to the ASG than they should go for it.
@mawavoy
@mawavoy 4 ай бұрын
@@tigera6 , you make some valid points; however, if a career ending injury occurs in an all-star game; the player has the thought, for the rest of his life, I should not have played. In the case of football, you see players completely skipping the game. A similar thing is happening at the collegiate level. Player are opting out of bowl games. The fact that a contract is fully guaranteed doesn’t take into account the legacy and hall of fame implications. The football pro bowl was a flag game. There is another issue. Non-all star players get a three day rest. Something to think about if your team is a potential playoff contender. As a matter of fact, a minimum number of games had to be set in the NBA for MVP consideration. Sports writers and sports casters want more content. From their perspectives, players are fungible.
@tigera6
@tigera6 4 ай бұрын
@@mawavoy I dont think NBA is comparable to NFL as a whole. NFL contracts are non-guaranteed, and they make far less than NBA players on average, plus its contact sport that give higher chance of injury in general. So I personally understand the Pro Bowl or the College Bowl to be where they are at. And just because something COULD happen, doesnt mean its likely to happen and we shouldnt over-react to it. Like theoretically saying, you can get hit by a truck the moment you driving on the road. So do you lock yourself at home and never go out? So when have we seen a contenders team lost their star players during an all-star game and missed their chance to compete for the NBA title later? I dont EVER recalled that happen in recent memory. So what are we worrying about? Like the minimum games requirement, some participation rule need to be applied by the NBA imo. Maybe, winning team of the ASG get to skip the 65-games requirement, so if they try harder to win it, they get to rest more later, lol.
