In 1996, 1998, and 1999 Rice was racking up more yards, more targets, more TDs and more receptions than TO, while making All Pros and Pro Bowls, neither of which TO did in those years. Rice was injured in 1997 or it would have been more of the same. It wasn’t until 2000 that TO finally put up a better season than Rice. While Rice wasn’t putting up his ungodly numbers in the 4 years they were together, he was still a top 3 WR in the league.

Aiden O'Connel didn't know the playbook. Not to mention he was a rookie who had to switch playbooks right in the middle and still won 5 very difficult games. You don't think with a well known playbook and natural growth he isn't going to be better? There is a reason O'Connel is going to start over Minshew knowing he will be the highest paid backup in the league. Oconell is going to be that good just sit and watch. And yes Maxx will be DPOY because we will be in the playoffs. That has been the deciding factor and why Maxx has gotten his. This year sit n watch boys it will be an amazing show.

THANK YOU RICH!!! Finally someone recognizes that the frustration Davante expressed in Receiver was during the Josh McDaniels and Jimmy G time, and that he is much happier with AP and AOC and the overall direction of the Raiders. Everybody else is conflating that with how he feels now, which is not the same. He grew up a Raiders fan and likes living in Vegas closer to his family. Sure he would love to play with his good friend Aaron Rodgers again, but Right now he wants to be a Raider.

Last pair of 1,000 yard rushers was in 2019 with Lamar Jackson and Mark Ingram. Before that was the '09 Panthers (each over 1,100) in Stewart and Williams. The year before had the Giants with Jacobs and Ward. In total there's been 7 instances.

People are mentioning Rice & Owens (definitely the best duo ever), and Moss & Carter as #2 - also correct - but another top duo is Steve Smith & Muhsin Muhammad with Carolina, who are #1 & #2 in receiving in that team's history. Muhammad was ridiculously good in many years, and Smith is a future HOFer. Marvin Harrison & Reggie Wayne is also a great duo, and don't forget Rice & Tim Brown on the Raiders. Brown played in the shadow of Rice his whole career, but he's also a HOFer and his career numbers are mostly top-10 in every category.

For people who are not familiar with how the Pirates do business, they will bench Skenes before they let him win the Cy Young. They lose a year of control on him if he wins the Cy Young, and the Pirates, as a poverty franchise, are never gonna let that happen.

Why we pretending Davante going to NY means an automatic SB ring? He left GB for 2 reasons, a big contract and the uncertainty about Rodgers, he said it multiple times before. Nobody knows if Rodgers in NY is even a thing, he may ask for a trade again right after this season for all we know. Davante loves the dude and all but he's not going back to that for just "a chance".

Lamar Jackson and Mark Ingram ran for 1000 yards each in 2019, Johnathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams for Carolina in 2009, Brandon Jacobs and Derrick Ward for the Giants in 2008, Vick and Dunn in Atlanta in 2006. If you want to exclude the qb's, since 1985 there's been 2 Running Back tandem's to reach 1000 yards

Najee and Warren both getting 1k doesn't seem outlandish to me if they were that close last year. And Skenes could end up limited to end the year if the Pirates aren't in a Wild Card chase so he'll get ROY but Sale or Wheeler will win Cy Young.

I went to UF for 3 years, Kyle Pitts was one of the best athletes ive ever seen. Arthur Smith had him blocking while the second string TE was catching passes, if he doesnt pop off this year then idk

If Davante was going to the Jets, it would have happened in the offseason. He wants to be a Raider, he's a west coast guy, and being close to his family and wearing the Silver and Black outweighs playing with Rodgers on a Jets team that just never seems to get any better, and always seems to find a way to lose. He has "blessed" Aidan O'Connell as QB1 and believes in his ability. He's also cheap and they will be able to afford to put pieces around him for a few years. They currently have $35M in cap space.

Can we please get someone who knows a little football history for some of these. Best WR duo of all time? Jerry Rice played with both Terrel Owens and Tim Brown at different points. Julio Jones and Roddy White. Isaac Bruce and Tory Holt. Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison. And nobody has had 2 1000 yard rushers? I don't know if it's happened ten times but I'd bet it's that. I know off the top of my head the 70s dolphins with Kiik Mercury and Csonka. I know Franco Harris and somebody else did it with the steelers. I know Jonathon Stewart and D'Angelo Williams did it. I know Lamar and Ingram did it. I know Vick and Dunn did it.

How many receivers in NFL history had 1000 yard seasons iat age 32 or higher ? You basically have Larry Fitzgerald, Hines Ward, Reggie Wayne, Derrick Mason, Donald Driver, Cris Carter and Tim Brown…. And like 8 seasons of Jerry Rice. And most of those guys were then done by 34-35. Basically, it means history is not on Davante Adams’s side for not just this year but any future years the Jets may hope they can get him for.

OK, Rich: how about just for achitz and giggles you spend some time talking about what I guess you might classify as the workhorses that are fundamental to making the on-field system work as designed by the playbook? It’s so very easy and, dare I say, a good sell to talk about the “big boys.” But what about the support system. Anyone who works in a successful system would not be successful up front and visible without the support system bolstering the most visible guys. There’s a 53 man roster; 11 people are on the field at any one time. That’s life in the NFL. But what about spending some time on those further down the pecking order?
