3:06 These vocals are awesome As a bonus tip to the video: Try to use sounds that fit well together to begin with, you can try applying certain effects like freq shifters to several kinds of hats to make them fit together as if it's one kit. With freq shifters specifically I have a weird trick where I use several in a chain to squish all the freqs into a certain range that can then be shifted again (Can blend with a different shift for layered sound), I usually make my percs from hats using this technique, for example.

Thank you so much for this tutorial. The reverb trick is so useful. I always avoided reverb for smoothing because of the diffusion. I didn't know i can control that. Now it doesn't feel like reverb at all. Just a smoother tool. Brilliant!

Hey man, do you think you could make a video breaking down how to make those super trippy futuristic 80s sounds that can be heard on tracks by actress, Andy story, daphni, oneohtrix point never etc. I can send you the songs I’m talking about if you’re not sure

If you don’t have $200 to spend for soothe I recommend TDR Nova! Free Dynamic EQ with 4 bands (8 bands if you buy it) and it works like a charm!

yes it does. Frequency splitting always changes the phase. Thats why eg Waves has a linear phase multiband comp :)

Love your vids , but also your productions as Aiden Williams! I'll feature your Crystal Energy track, in one of our tutorials for One Tagger soon. Could you do a video how to smooth out vocals produced by extracting them like lalal(dot)ai , spleeter, ultimate vocal remover and audioshake(dot)ai? I mean, the results are promising nowadays, but they do produce artifacts and I'm not sure how to approach these artifacts.
