That's great. The only downside is not getting sick and annual leave but that is covered usually with extra payments we are getting.

As for annual earnings/end of year .. on average, do casuals end up earning around the same as full- timers or more if they do 38+hours of work?
@overseasstudentsaustralia

They do make more money if they work equal hours as Full time employee. But then your employers start thinking of making you full time anyways as they don't want to pay more money than they need to

Problem is they will pay you minimum wage and then add 25% on top. You don't earn much more than full timers if any

@@Hashslingingslasher- i wouldnt say thats necessarily true. Perhaps my previous company was different though. I was earning $37.75 as a casual while doing nightshift ( 6pm to 6am ) at a factory and we had a guaranteed 36 hours a week. Now im earning $25.69 per hour as a fulltime employee working for a retail store. I havent been working here long enough to determine whether or not i prefer this job over ny last job but i can say that ive been enjoying it more than my previous job so far

@@Hashslingingslasher- plus earning sick and annual leave feels great. Although unfortunately my company does have a policy where they will require you to use up youre leave if you have too much accued. I think its 28 working days of leave before they ask ( or force ) you to use up your leave. So 4 weeks or 1 years worth of annual leave.

Best university is based on your choice of location and many other factors but you can check Australian National University and University of Melbourne. Basically any uni from Group of 8 is pretty good to go with.

the fact is Casual work is for fairly low skilled occupational groups, in every casual work the job scope will be define. Its not a benefit to be a casual worker. Its like you are not important and you can go anytime you want The 25% more is based national minimum wage....which means and normally way below the wages that they are paying for the same kind of low skill work. By the way most low skilled works who works fulltime permanent are being paid highly in Australia. So its a farce to be a casual worker....
@overseasstudentsaustralia
@overseasstudentsaustralia Жыл бұрын
I have to respectfully disagree with you. Not only low skilled jobs but some high skilled jobs are also offering casual positions. I work in education industry and it is becoming more casualised than ever before. Sad for many people as they should be part-time or full-time but in my case as i run my business, i prefer to work casual and other factors that work in my favour. Again, the purpose of the video is by no means to glorify casual work but to let students know about pros and cons of casual work. If an individual decides to work as a casual, it is their personal choice and they need to know both sides before they choose to do so. Hope this helps. 🙏
