You’re right. It is arrogance. We need to go back to the prophetic guidance of saying yes to a guy whose character and deen pleases us. Because rejecting good guys has consequences (fitna & fasad just like the hadith says). When you’re young, you erroneously think that there is an endless supply of good guys and you take the ones you come across for granted. Then when you’re older you regret it because you realise that not all men are good or decent. Don’t reject good guys when you’re young, because you will find yourself desperately searching when you’re older and chasing after terrible guys. If only I could go back and say yes to the guys from my early-mid twenties.
