I really like that seaborn's name in this story. "The First to Talk." In the story, The entire reason it learned to talk like a human was to converse with Skadi and tell her the truth of her blood. Also, in case anyone's still confused, Skalter is a non-cannon alternate "what-if" version of Skadi, where Gladia fails to stop "The First to Talk" and it actually convinces Skadi to accept her Seaborn blood. Her operator files and voice-lines hint that in that alternative universe, where Skadi accepted her seaborn nature, the entire world was wiped out by the seaborn. Ursus, Iberia, Rhodes Island, everything. I also really like how it's mentioned that the seaborn and the sea terrors are a simple hivemind race and don't harbor any emotions. Everything they've done so far like destroying the Iberian coast was not out of evil, conquest or spite, but simply a will to survive, much like any wild animal. They're a primal force, like the ocean itself.... which I just find absolutely terrifying. extra extra: I also really like how in one of Skalter's files, it describes her as "The seaborn that has taken her voice." implying that she is no longer human, but simply a seaborn with her skin and voice.

What makes you think it's non canon? So far we don't really have a timeframe to work(or at least i don't know) we don't know when did this happen. Skadi talking about killing "everyone" feels like it implied killing only her fellow hunters imo. Also there's currently no operators with alternate versions of themselves and i don't see plans to do that, there's only future versions, skalter may happen but it's not an alternate version. Also, if she wanted to take you back to the sea, she'd do so in case she actually killed everyone, there'd be no one to stop her. I just don't know.

@@a-1455 bro it was in a cn livestream from back in may/june. I have got no clue where you can find it these days. Maybe I can clear some things up for you. Remenber when the seaborn was trying to make Skadi accept her seaborn blood? Gladiia punched a hole in the seaborn before Skadi could cave in. Gladiia noted, that Skadi was coverd in veins and shit while the seaborn was talking to her. Skadi noted that it 'felt as if her finger nails wanted to swim off" and her body felt stiff. And moments later she fights together with other hunters against our chutulu wannabe. Also, why would Skadi alter be wearing the outfit in the future, when the original Skadi wants to give it back to the old man? Also you should read her E2 clothing description. It hints that alter skadi came to IR with the other hunters. Seeing as how Gladiia is explaining stuff in the achive 2 file of skadi alter. The ending of the event confirms that they all made savely back to IR as well.

And yea i remember gladiia noting that, and there's where the divergence in timelines come from. What I'm trying to say is that her lines don't exactly imply that she killed her hunters in that one place, it could be sometime later. Is not that she wants to wear that in the future, the directives of kal'tsit are absolute and her returning them would not be feasible specially under her current mental condition. The point is that the core idea, which i consider a cognitive hazard, has already been implemented by both the old abyssal god and "the first to talk" she/them had no real need to change her at that very moment, sure it helps that the hunters were impaired but it's simply a matter of time. Which brings us to the ultimate salvation, "that" ship gladiia wants to find, she's already suffering the effects of that knowledge as seen in the last images, that's in my opinion where either skadi kills everyone or they manage to completely separate themselves from the seaborn. Also, yeah you may think I intentionally ignored the fact that gladiia hurt the seaborn to stop the effects to take place and that she confirmed that she just laid there to listen what had to be said, but i still think skadi is yet to fully understand what they wanted.

I'm surprised people haven't drawn parallels over what's happening in the borderlands (heh) of Terra. Ursus is dealing with the "demons" (the source of the genetic splice for the Emperor's Blade) while Iberia/Aegir is dealing with the Seabornes (the source of the genetic splice for the Abyssal Hunters). Both nations are also quite militant: Ursus with the obvious warmongering behavior while there's the Inquisition in Iberia. They also have the two known most desolate yet habited area of Terra: the cold tundras of Ursus and the devastated coastline of Iberia. It's honestly batshit scary knowing what goes on in these areas. At the same time, no one understands what the hell is happening. Whatever lies beyond the known world is slowly unfolding from A Walk in the Dust and Under Tides but everyone is still dealing with the repercussions of the actions of Ursus and whatever the hell is happening to Kazdel and all the Sarkaz.

They told us that they keep any info/expeditions or attempts to learn about the outside or the area where the "demons" (probably soggoth) a huge secret. So far that they would wipe out entire towns/villages/xyz VIP due the risk of spreading the information/awareness about their existence. As the "demons" grow stronger by people being aware of their existence/haveing knowledge about them. And the Seaborne are fought with primitive weapons because the Aegir are concerned about their extreme growth/adaptation. To the point where they could evolve so much that the Ageirs Sci-Fi technology possible accelerates their growth beyond their means to kill/fight them. There is a lot of fucked up Eldritch Horrors/Monsters around on Terra and thats very very worrysome. Considering the major powers are busy fighting each other. Like the Endgame of Arknights may turn into a "Bad End" scenario where everyone dies.

The Way they narrated the story in Under Tides is Very Similar on how one reads a book, some actions are spoken to increase the tension, while others are shown to make progress, either way Great Story HG, Insmouth is a Fucking Lovecraftian Horror Mythos Masterpiece, ashame we didn't see Big Ol' Tentacle faced Cthulu, although the Church of the Deeps Ones does exist meaning he might exist in th future.

That made them lose their minds & even the ability to properly talk. And the Bishop even told us his plans are to transform them. There was 100 % something in the food that the Sea Borne brought on the shore.

The alter is a "what if" skadi became a seaborne, in the story gladia stops this from happening when she gets up and kills the first to talk. For more reasons this is a what if skadi alter, I believe she has a voice line or 2 taking about how she killed spectre and gladia which isn't what happened.

This story made me question how the hell did Reunion give Rhodes so much trouble when they had monsters like Skadi, Rosmontis, Misery(Still not in game, but was able to completely make a fool of Mudrock's giant golem.) in their ranks. With the exception of Patriot and Talulah, there shouldn't have been any real opposition from them. The battle between Skadi and the High inquisitor was said to be tearing the city apart, and both fighters were still holding back.

Reunion movement was far bigger organization than Rhodes Island especially since theyre very tight on operator deployments and has to make every move worth its cent. Tho I agree with you as to how they just didn't deploy people like Skadi to deal with them and has to risk Doctor's life to engage in every mission against them (he almost died to Frsotnova if not only to thicc plot armor)

I'm kinda sad to say this but if you try to read the last story on the event it seems like Anita got the red shell and they still might have continued the ritual. Skadi realized it but she still replied to Anita with a reassuring reply. A rather tragic farewell if you ask me.

​@@sb18wlc Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me. An open ending by the devs to keep us on our toes bruh... Worst possible ending is her being sacrificed and the entire city being purged by inquisitors who deem its inhabitants and place tainted and beyond saving with all the monthly seafood buffets and terrors lurking around the city. But then again, Irene is still a young and open inquisitor (Almost viewed naive by her senior). We saw how she still cares for the inhabitants and she will most likely watch and have the city under her jurisdiction after the event. Above all, she has personally met and remembers Anita. Kal'tsit also cares about the lives of common folk in AK universe and I'm sure she will give some solid advice or temporary solutions for the inquisitors to keep the seaborn/terrors under control while she's being held for interrogation. In the end, it's all up to our imagination until devs decide to release further lore but it's fun to ponder and I'm personally hoping for a positive outcome :)
