New Flight from Cebu City to Bantayan Island?

Philippines retirement and expat lifestyle... They're advertising a flight from Cebu to Bantayan Island for 888 Pesos! Instead of riding the bus for 5 hours to Cebu City, I'll just overnight on Bantayan Island and take the plane.

I know what you mean about the reasons why Bantayan Island hasn't taken off. I learned the hard way-just because you catch the ferry over doesn't mean you're going to make it. One time we were on the boat and about halfway there during rainy season when the water started getting really choppy and dangerous, and the boat turned around and went back. So flights from Cebu are going to make the place a lot more accessible. There's downsides, too. Now that it's more accessible the danger is that it will blow up and get overbuilt like Boracay. I hope that doesn't happen and they control the growth, because as you say it's truly a beautiful place.

I lived in Borocay in 2007 for 9 months up on the hill below the German Murder House. It was better back then as it wasn’t nearly as crowded and expensive as it is now. My wife and I loved it but our baby daughter didn’t like the water. Now at 16 she is like a mermaid 🧜‍♀️

Most all Filipinas will sleep in until 9 to 9:30am. I AM awake by about ~ 1:30am and out of the shower by 2:30, 3am. And I always have breakfast before I take a shower. Filipinas sleep through the best part of the morning. I AM definitely up before the chickens.

Hey King , I was on the inaugural flight, everyone thought I was a politician 🤪 The down side of the flight is too many tourist soon…? Lucky I’m old You are right about the food there… the burrito company is great …. Top of the line food, ambience, and hospitality, there’s also brother Adams bbq spot which is totally relaxing with great food and sauces, Italian cuisine around corner that is out of the realm of anything so far! Beaches are beautiful, same problems with trash washing up, but places like Kota has young adults out working cleaning up the beach and it gets hauled off. I think you guys over on that shore are sending us the trash Be ready when the plane lands runways only 1200’ and the plane takes 1199’ to stop 😅

I definitely was not impressed with Boracay. It felt like a tourist trap, an American shopping mall with some beaches where you couldn't even have a beach chair out there on the sand so me and my wife enjoyed laying on the sand and eating at a few restaurants but other than that no thanks

Take a bus instead. When i visited the Philippines i experienced 6-8 hour delays with Philippines air. 6 hours with air Asia. Horrible airlines.
