It's fantastic you guessed correctly! Usually "play an honor on an honor" refers to covering the opponents honors. In other words, playing the ace on the opponents' king, rather than partner's king. Typically, if partner is already winning the trick, we don't play a higher card on their card.... UNLESS, we need to do so for transportation as we do here.
