Maybe include, that braking is also really sim specific cuz on acc you HAVE to brake 100% and into the corner

@@carrybread667 Yep. I started with ACC, couldn’t do Iracing brakes at first. Now I’m much smoother and can actually set some middle times on the tracks I have. I went back to ACC and forgot just how much you have to smash the brakes on it. Needless to say I didn’t do well.

Still? Surely that should have been attended to by now?!

You certainly don't "have" to. I usually don't.

For setting brake balance, pick an external view, build up some straight-line speed and brake heavily. Adjust brake balance until both front and rears are locking up at the same time. Fine tune in the corners once you start driving.
@mbgmadbull11415 күн бұрын
wait you have to fine tune per corner? that sounds like a gimmick imo.
@maximravinet99505 күн бұрын
@@mbgmadbull1141 that's what actually happens in races but it's not necessary as a beginner. And it's not necessarily for every single corner but if the track is mostly big open corners and then one hairpin, adjusting a few clicks before the hairpin might help gain some time
@mbgmadbull11415 күн бұрын
@@maximravinet9950 that's why I usually find a consistent brake bias and go from there, if your focus is just laptimes then you can adjust per corner. but if you actually wanna be able to race consistent technique is more important. I been through it all and I still find more time in just driving a better line and doing a better corner with what I have. even if that means I sacrifice a single corner to make the rest of the track faster and more consistent. but both are valid depending on how and what you drive and where you drive. I been doing this for over 10 years and I still learn new things. never stop learning new tech to use in your driving.
@maximravinet99505 күн бұрын
@mbgmadbull1141 I tend to do the same as you with finding a setting I like and keeping it mostly that way. But very advanced drivers apparently play with it quite a bit throughout a lap. Who would I be to say the F1 guys are doing it wrong 🤣
@mbgmadbull11415 күн бұрын
@@maximravinet9950 I mean I mainly do ovals on iRacing and have seen guys change their brake bias goin into T1 and goin into T3 like they're driving an F1 car XD so I get it. but like I said it depends on what you're driving and how you drive it and where. still I know why they do it in F1 and WEC and it still feels like it's overkill imo. but who are us mere mortals to judge irl drivers right? hope to see you on track tho as with everyone else.

pt#1 ok for sprints not great for endurance racing, meaningful difference here #2 and then your next point is brake correctly and dont lock brakes...great stuff
