@Domingo Aguirre SloMo can have as much work as it wants done in the background. It doesn't change the fact that it's a rather standard hyper-produced pop-song of the type I find extremely boring, it actually accentuates that even more :) Thee same dislike of hyper-produced pop-songs is why I hope against all hope that my country of Sweden do poorly so we at least once take the chance on something that isn't that. I can't tell just by translating this if you're being sarcastic or serious. LOL! I'm only going on a translation of the lyrics I found on an ESC reaction website. That and "booty hypnotic". And I know Chanel has done a lot - she's obviously an awesome dancer, and I gather she's done a lot of acting too. My impression is she's had a very successful career. I'm not aware of her doing any other music besides this. Its too bad, she's charismatic and seems like a genuinely sweet person. But this song....sorry, just ick.

That does not send any transcendental message? another truth What was intended with this song? having a good time, that's the reality, after two years, locked up, with so many people who have died, in fear every day. Something like this was missing, a show that would make us dance Point and aside to tell you (unless you have mistranslated that you understand that she only works on songs like this) that Chanel has mainly worked on musicals of the stature of "El guadaespaldas" or "El rey Leon" and in her interviews she has vindicated those thousands of artists, who many times are not even named, with the tremendous ability to sing and dance at the same time, something magical and very difficult for me. What was intended with this candidacy of Spain? "Get up, get off your ass and dance and have a good time, we've been through enough darkness already" and I think they succeeded. A hug.

You have missed lots of important points in your video (and you have pointed two different girls that were not Chanel): - 70% televote for tanxugueiras was orchestrated by regional campaign by free televote by Galician corporations and factories. - mass media were promoting Tanxugueiras and Rigoberta for months (since October actually) in primetime TV programs using the two songs in their most viewed programs. - the political establishment backing openly the feminist "ay mama" by Rigoberta (major parties in the government backing it) and Terra by tanxugueiras (Labour minister openly backing it) before the contest. - Chanel won the demoscopic vote against Terra in the semifinal so Chanel was 1st on juries, 1st on demoscopic, 2nd on televote. - 2 days went by between semifinal and grand final, TV echoing the anger (for no reason as rules were clear) on all TV channels. Then demoscopic vote felt the pressure and change their vote to 1st Terra, 2nd Chanel. (Remember, 2 days before demoscopic made Chanel their winner). - had Rigoberta won the televote our representative would have been her instead of Chanel (this proves everything was sticked to the rules). - Spaniards, mostly, have been trying to bring down their entry for months now. - Kyle Hanagami, the choreographer, reached out to Chanel and not the other way round. Some are pointing out he may be doing it in an altruistic way. -Some people are mad cos they think Tanxugueiras should have been ranked higher by juries therefore they describe this as "cheating". No, sorry, I would have place them even lower! Their performance was weak and not ESC ready. - galician language only represents a small part of Spain with 2.2M - Spain will never back a song sung in Catalan despite is a language spoken by 7M in the country. Hypocrisy. - Tanxu fandom is ok with Rigoberta winning and the other way round but both fandom are against Chanel victory = they are not supporting their entry fully but going against Chanel in every single way.

IMPORTANT FACT: you could vote for the Galician song for free. Their autonomous community due to Tanxugueiras singing in their language along with their pro-nacionalism raised a voting method for FREE, if you voted them. There it is the actual reason of them getting so many votes. ANOTHER ONE: same people from Galicia making fake profiles to bully the winning artist everywhere on social media and make more noise than they really could. ABOUT THE BOOBIE SONG: it became a political movement (again). The Political Party “unidas podemos” was the fairy mother of this song. Making everyone that supported them also vote for that song. Also the singer expressed that she did not feel Spanish (again pro-nacionalism). So I basically could not see the point of her representing a country that she clearly said she did not feel she belonged to. It all became so political and manipulated that Chanel winning was just a blessing and more than fair.

@beatriceposada75042 жыл бұрын
It is very easy to repeat what you have read somewhere else, without having much knowledge of the facts, without checking them, without realising how damaging your comments can be. Lots of people from all around Spain voted both Tanxugueiras and Rigoberta, not just from Galicia. And even if you were right and only Galicians or Catalans voted, that would not make the votes less valid. It would have meant that people in other areas could not be bothered vote, or they did not like any songs. You also talk about nationalism without knowing what it practically means. It is not the same in the nazi times, than in Ukrainia or Galicia or in the Basque Country. In even within those areas it will mean different things to different indibviduals. If you had done your research you would know that nationalists do not get that much support in Galician politics. It does not take much research to know that Franco, Fraga, Rajoy and now Feijoo son productos da terra either. Do your research before stating your facts. Also the Benidorm Fest is open to participants of all sexes, ideologies and religions. So even if political orientation had played a role, which haven't, that should not be a criteria to make any of the runner ups less worthwhile. We do not longer live in a dictatorship were only the singers who support the ruling party or ideology can participate. Also I am not sure if you know that nationalism in the Galician context, means that they support their own culture and identity. It is not a synonym of independentism. The majority of the Galician nationalists, which are not that many as you lead to believe, feel Spanish and do not wish to change their status. They just want to see their culture respected. If you were really in social media following the Benidorm Fest, you would know that Galicians in general and their culture received a lot of undeserved humiliating hate too. Defenders of the Andalusian, Aragonese or Galician culture want their music, traditions and language to flourish, not at the expense of other cultures. Those feelings have nothing to do with those people wanted to be independent or being separatists. You can check all those statistics online. You should read the lyrics of the other songs to understand what they talk about. It is not about politics. I do not support Unidas Podemos, but I'd rather have a song supporting maternity or another one about the value of the women ancestors that passed on the rich cultures that coexists in Spain that a message that says look how I move my bum and you get a hard on. Unless, you have not read the SloMo lyrics and have not understood between the lines. Still, I do not make any allegations against Chanel, as I am sure that the fact that she wears suggestive clothing and sings those lyrics with a sexualise dance does not indicate that she is a woman that makes a living by making men hot...in exchange for financial compensation (euphemism). At the end of the day it is the people who accuse both Rigoberta or Tanxugueiras of making these a political issue, the only ones who are making this political. Rigoberta and Tanxugueiras fans, have not accused Chanel's fans of being machistas, misogynist or encouraging women to have sex to improve their economic status or that her supporters are pro-violencia de género, Now, thoughtless people who have crossed the line to express the hate against the 3 top artists, unfortunately In spite of everything. I admire Chanel for her working ethos and I wished her the very best. And I hope one day she can write and compose her own songs and perhaps she will move me as much as the other 2 songs. Good luck in Eurovision Chanel!

"Surprisingly the boob song was not the one everyone was talking about". Everybody talks in Spain about that song, and of course of Terra too. But Ay Mama was the N.1 song in Spanish charts the week after Benidorm Fest, and Terra was in N.7. Right now, Ay Mama is certified Platinium in Spain and is became and anthem in Spain. And that´s the reason why there are jury panel and a demoscopic panel in Benidorm fest and in a lot of festivals, like SanRemo, because sometimes the televote vote based in fanaticism and don´t reflect the real opinion of the country. That´s the reason why Tanxugueiras won the televote with 70% because of fanaticism. As u can see that the most viewed, streamed and sellying song is Ay Mama with a huge difference. It´s now a Platinium song. And Terra and SloMo are not even Gold yet. (There near and SLomo is going to be Gold before Eurovision, but as u can see the televote didnt reflect the song that the most of spain want). And because of that fanaticism, Chanel was hated a lot and a lot of lies appear to try to disqualify her. Simplemente he querido añadir más información no estoy faltando al respeto a Tanxugueiras y menos a Chanel. Mi apoyo a Chanel 100% que nos va a conseguir un Top 5.

The answer is , Slomo is not produce by the singer so is more money for the producer company who creates the song. This is the difference with Mama and Terra. It's all about money, same as the Do it for your lover year. It's all about money and power. The televote doesn't function if the false demoscope vote exist. Finally say that Slomo and Chanel are a good song and artist and the question is, who must to decide, public or professionals? That is the question, but never both because this is the result.

If you are going to do an analysis it would be good to make a full analysis of everything. If you are talking about the judges failure to chose a good entry you should also focus on the publics failure to chose a good entry with Chikilicuatre for example. Also it should be pointed out that 50% was public vote, only difference was that it was divided into demografic and public public vote (people paying to vote for the favourite). The reason for this is also quite spot on if you ask me, for the majority of the the paid votes came from Galicia (the autonomy where TAnxugeiras come from) so if it had only been paid votes it wouldnt have been a representation of what spain actually wanted to take, just what a small part of spain wanted. Either way, looking at all of this after eurovision I think a lot of people have to look back and evaluate what they said and the insults they sent towards Chanel

People always talk about how the chiki chiki was a disaster, but, that year we came 16, that is better than average since the 2000s, the chiki chiki performed better than 59% of all the other songs from 2000's. Its like some years we forget and then other years Spain forgets. Ocasionally we both do it and vote for each other as we should but perhaps with less enthusiasm than the scandinavians giving the 12 points to someone else's song just because we...bah...liked it an thought it was much better than our dear neighbours song Come on Spanish bros lets get our act together....although this year Blanca Paloma should easily get a good score from us without having to appeal to the Iberian block solidarity as its a great song, very well performed, and we are familiar and like flamenco so its not an "alien" stetic for us

Taxugueira's would do very good at Eurovision. So good that France just thought we too have a Celtic region that we have been oppressing for hundreds of years! - Celtic and electronic sounds: check - Celtic aesthetic: check - 3 empowered woman: check - Lots of black and gold: check - Dark eye makeup: check - Men with skirts, women with pants: check - Good song: That's harder to copy If you consider the song that took Tanxugueiras to Benidorm, Figa, the similarities are even more. In conclusion, of course I will vote for our Breton brothers and sisters! Spain has a lot of experience with hiring the best in the World for Eurovision, or somebody that previously won the contest, and wasting a lot of money. We do that every year. RTVE executives might think that the most important thing is that no one can fire them for hiring somebody with an amazing CV. The result does not always worth the money spent

Allegations of France being a copycat could have made sense if this year's entry would have been the next year's (like with Achille Lauro accused of copying Måneskin, which btw is also an uninformed assumption). How could they have known about Tanxagueira's success this year considering the last date for submitting a song for the French NF was in October last year? Some kind of Celtic witchcraft prophecy?

She only got 4% of the vote, because the public wanted something that sounded more genuine. SloMo is a commercial manufactured product well delivered. But it is nothing innovative. The other 2 options captivated more the hearts and souls of Spanish people who felt moved and represented for different reasons. Also, in a country where there is so much crime against women, the lyrics were not well received. They alienate a large part of the Spanish population. There are already too many songs that unfortunately, portrait women as sexual objects around the world. However, the Spanish people did not appreciate that a song with those lyrics was chosen to represent the country. That is not the image Spanish want to transmit of ourselves of the world. The other 2 runups had feminist and inclusive messages and they were unique and more quirky. Apart from the lyrics people like more their music more and that the artist created their own work.

It has been reported in several media outlets and RTVE was even asked about this at the press brief following Chanel"s victory, they could not do anything about it cause there are no rules saying that mobile companies can't buy votes, which is what essentially happened. To confirm it even further two friends of mine living at A Coruña where offered free phone calls & sms , directly inciting to vote for an specific artist., still RTVE can't penalized those votes cause again there are no specific rules about it. My claim is for people to get facts correctly. Chanel has gone through enough hate coming from a toxic fan based. I didn't vote for her but she's our representative and I’m 100% behind our girl.

Dancing on the edge of vulgar is a perilous exercise. Often the quality of the music, the catchiness of the tune tips the scale the right way. I liked Fuego, eventually. But a pantless matador costume, however richly embroidered, I just can't. But Spain should be happy with the results. Speaking from Britany, the celts traditions didn't pay much this year.

As a gay man I found it quite repulsive and desperate how in your face they were showing their as-good-as naked butts. felt like I was drowning in ass! 😂 I think this song is so mediocre that nobody would have remembered this song, had it not been the only Latin dance song one this year. (Also the bass line in the chorus is stolen from another popular club song! I don't know the title because I hate club music, but it's a very recognizeable and prominent synth melody, so it's still obvious to me despite the fact it's not even my genre!) And I'm disappointed that the song was ranked so high and apparently left an impression in people's minds, rather than just on their faces.
