When will NY state pay parents to be care givers so we don’t have to leave our children with strangers? This makes no sense not to be in place! I have to go to work and leave my disabled child with an underpaid aide just to scrape by. When I could be staying home caring for my child and being paid instead. The California model is working. What is the delay?

What if the consumer is ready to transition out but the case manager tells consumer that they just got a grant award and they are on the contract another 6 years and she’s coming over to dreetermine “level of care” on a cerebral palsy highest level client

She said he has nowhere else to go..meaning competition is impossible..she probably has a partner he can go to next possibly..i find that disgusting

He’s just going to another place that won’t brush his teeth or use acne cream nor will they provide accessible technology or let him leave without crappy staff
