Would you normally state that the final answer is (45/28)? I was taught in school that the final answer is usually reduced/simplified giving the final answer as 1 and (17/28). I got this answer from subtracting 28 from 45 and getting a whole number 1 and the remaining as a fraction. I assume this was just to explain the ease of the fractions but I wanted to make sure as it has been a while since I was in college. Thanks for the great videos!

The answer would just depend on the instructions you are given. 45/28 is an improper fraction. 1 17/28 is a mixed fraction. Both answers are correct, just in different forms. Hope this helps. Don't forget we have other great study materials for specific exams on our website at www.mometrix.com.
