Burns was my sponsor and taught me more than I can ever pay back. He passed away today. Rest easy Burns, you were a fine soldier in carrying the message to the next person who suffers. ❤

Rest in peace, Burns. I am very proud of my sponsorship lineage, and to have received the message of those who received the message from you.

Burns took an interest in our group of Teenage alcoholics. I attended meetings with Burns and his kids that were in recovery. Truly a Family disease, and he understood the phenomenon of kids and teenagers fast tracked into alcohol and drug addiction.

Science! Glad to hear a medical doctor speak from many positions of authority in this talk. I'd rip out the original Doctors Opinion section and replace it with modern progress and real hope from real solutions via informed preventions.

I asked Burns why don't he write a new doctor's opinion & he asked me if it served its purpose &what would he change? Then he told me that new research is done every day & they're putting out new books, internet feeds&medical facts on a regular to expand our knowledge.. After that he told me me to keep it simple stupid..lol.. I think I had 93 days then.. Thank God for the solution & Burns Brady.. 8-11-13 no matter what

He is saying what Silkworth suggested while backing it up with current science. We can do exactly the same with the newcomer and in our rooms. I have given talks to medical professionals. I come straight from the Doctors opinion. And who would have more experience than Silkworth? He worked with some 40,000 addicts and alcoholics. If they question his ideologies, point them to the NIH who has thousands of studies listed on their site that back up the hypothesis of Silkworth. What matters is, the idea that alcoholics are not wired up, biologically, the same as the rest of the "earthlings".

@@TTTCWWYes, Silkworth was an absolute quack but he had enough insight to push Bill into following the path that got us sober, and that’s why the Doctor’s Opinion should remain for the historical record. We Agnostics and To the Wives are both pretty bad too in their own ways but I still appreciate them for the earnest attempts that they were at the time.

@@jkholtgreve What did Silkworth state that is not backed up with hard science today? Silkworth had mountains of emperical evidence. He was sixty years ahead of hard science.,

@@TheKCSD Is that in or near Burns' beloved hometown of Mayfield. I met Burns when he was about eight years sober and I was new. His wife and I became best friends. There is no one, in my 36 years of walking this path, who has had more influence on my sobriety than Burns.
