Honestly, though, I feel like there are so few videos actually aimed at the console version of the game. I know a majority of people play on PC, but we still appreciate getting little tips and tricks to help us play a bit better in this game

As a Kiriko main here more tips, if you are following that configuration then have the kunais as Rt and healing as Rb, you need to be more presice. The swift step sensitivity always at 100% bc its more of reaction and for escaping. Lastly turn OFF the automatic climb wall, that will ruin your gameplay when playing near walls.

console echo main here, literally all i did with my echo controls was swap jump and interact because it makes doing the flight cancel superjump/vertical jumps in general so easy, and also means that i can bunny-hop out of a flight cancel dash to beam someone behind cover if they're by themselves and below half hp. i didn't swap the primary/secondary fire buttons because it's easier to animation cancel your primary fire with your stickies if you can use both index fingers instead of moving one finger to another button, even if it's only just above it. a few more tips for any who care: 1. turn target confirmation for duplicate off. it's good for when you're learning, but once you get better and start using it as a second set of abilities after you've forced a duel (Samito mentions this in his recent Echo guide) the extra second or so to confirm will straight up lose you fights. 2. turn hold for flight on. when you get better, you should start learning flight cancel superjumps, and they are much easier with the setting on. 3. to play echo you kind of need to have some understanding of how to play every hero. when i was learning her i'd regularly take breaks if i came across a hero that i needed to get better at so i could duplicate them more effectively. 4. echo's kill combo (primary, stickies, beam) isn't the hardest part of her kit once you know how it works. the hardest part to master is her flight. don't underestimate it. 5. don't try to learn echo right now, hitscans are meta and it's not fun also: widow players hate echo with a passion. The echo change is very useful I never play echo just because the controls are so hard on console, aiming whilst flying and shooting is literally impossible with default settings.

Personally, playing on PS4 I found it more comfortable having: L1 as the jump R1 as the melee attack L3, R3 for abilities X as the ultimate Personally it did quite the wonder; playing with my friends who are on PC, I actually feel like I have more of a chance now than before I rebound my buttons

Finally someone else who prefers L1 over L2 for jump. I just find it more convenient and as a Lucio player it helps being able to still use L2 for Boop

I play a lot of Mercy and found myself accidentally rez’ing while just trying to angelic descent and getting killed in the process , so I switch the jump to left trigger and rez to the A button

I suppose the kiriko control map helps a bit for more but i have her kunais be the RT and her healing the RB instead. Helps for those that are constantly adjusted to shooting at people and can know that the healing is a secondary option above.

On pretty much every game that doesn’t have sprint, I bind the jump button to the left stick click. And if a game has auto sprint I use that, I also bind the crouch button to the right stick, just because I use that more than I use the Melee generally.

One thing I've done is shaped all heroes left bumper to clicking to down the left trigger, this is better for reacting and on soldier (kinda like cod sprinting)

When echo first came out I did swap my controls to be like that and while I did alright and even managed to play her in my master lobbies sometimes, i found my hand got sore from needing to have both fingers on my left bumper and trigger to perform the same maneuvers with my flight and my reaction time wasnt quite as quick as it was on tracer or genji who I mainly played, not to mention going from jump being on A to it being on the back trigger slowed me down alot when swapping between heros which is part of her ult so it's not exactly ideal but then i realized something about echo when I came over to ow2 and that is I use natural cover alot and tend to only peek for brief moments as echo since echo no longer can play very well with her team, tank busting and spamming from the air arent as viable now, especially once you hit diamond, you kinda are just a flank that can also kill a tank if you need too so I swapped my buttons around while stuck in gold during my echo one trick challenge I recently did and as soon as I swapped the controls back I found it didnt effect my playstyle at all and actually played better into it, I mean echo isnt like soldier, shes more like mcree where you gotta flick shot so you just gotta have a really fast thumb with really good flicking skills and shes actually better with the normal controls I think, and even with the flight on the back trigger, you still gotta let off the flight to make quick maneuvers so I just use those opportunities to make the small micro changes to keep shoot people. But maybe it's just me, I've asked many echos in my same teir what button layout they use and they all play with the button layout in your video but I keep pace with them and even beat them out alot of the time so its maybe just personal preference lol

I did the same as you with echo when i first started playing echo on console. I made her beam the A button though. Pharah i left alone since her aim isnt all that demanding. She has a lot of splash dmg. Maybe ill change it someday.

Fun fact, the change to backwards ga was a bigger nerf for mercy console players than PC players, because we can’t quickly turn around and GA away. But I guess that didn’t matter to blizzard. It’s not like the increased cooldown would be helpful even if I could turn around quick. Feels like blizzard just wants mercy players to go away

I use my R3 to jump and O as my ability Im use to this, I played siege and Apex L1 was my crouch/slide and R3 to jump on Apex - I also play Claw

When I use console, I automatically put jump and crouch on the bumpers. If you used the ninja layout in apex, you would know what i mean

This is facts. Just about all my characters have jump mapped to left trigger, secondary (if they have one) to Right bumper, and their passive or non aiming ability is X (I’m on PS lol). The only ones not mapped like that snipers or shields like rein and brigitte My interact is up d pad Comms is down d pad Ping is O and crouch is L Stick Great vid man we think the same almost especially with Kiriko XD

hold up is it not “normal” to hold a controller with your middle fingers on the triggers and index on the bumpers? i’ve always done that just so i don’t have to worry about switching buttons or whatever but does anyone else do this or am i just lazy lol?

it's not that it's not normal it's just that few people do it and the muscle memory is hard to get rid of technically it's actually a good habit to do that it just feels too weird for most people.
