Wow when he says "it reminds me of my duty" that's deep, in Honor and Glory he goes ham against the omnics, forgetting to use his shield for his comrades. His mentor sacrificed himself to save Rien from death. It's truly incredible what little lines of dialogue carry so much. It's deep and you can hear in his voice that he's still traumatized from it.

I wouldn’t say Rein is “traumatized” from Eichenwalde. It’s more of a guilt thing. His own glory-hounding got squadmates killed and injured, and resulted in his best friend, the man who was supposed to be in Reinhardt’s place, being mortally wounded. In the cinematic, you can see when he realizes this when they enter the castle. He can’t even look Balderich in the eyes. This is also one of the reasons he’s so determined to continue fighting “until his last breath”. His actions killed his best friend, and he’s spent his entire life since with that weighing on him. He keeps Balderich’s memory alive with every person he protects with his adventuring vigilantism.
