This is a common tactic for e-sport players to pressure their teams into paying them even better. Because why should Shock let one of the best (if not THE best) Mercy/Lucío player in the League go, and why should Moth leave the best team?

They are all learning quite a bit of each other's languages and I wouldn't be surprised if everyone has listening down pat, since that's way easier than speaking, reading, writing etc. And it's just that they talk in whatever their native language is for the sake of speed, but can easily understand the other language when listening.

its really only learning certain words and phrases. and the accents of your teamates speaking in your language. i think it takes planning to clear comms and only say things that other people understand but i dont think its that hard to do you just have to actually do it

I remember back ages ago, I used to think Pro league matches would be like, everyone's giving these crystal clear calls that would give the most info in the least words possible, realistically it's just a bunch of people shouting enemy heroes to focus down while everyone panics.

It’s not. Because everything is going on fast, they can’t really think what to say. Second, they do tell a lot of info, but because of the synergy, they less need to say those things. And also, there’s a lot of strategy planned before matches, and the players practice this a lot so they know what to do... If you said this as a joke so excuse me.
