i'm frequently surprised Sombra, Bastion, Junkrat, Symmetra, Torbjorn, and Orisa aren't used much in comp. it just seems extremely counter-productive, given their abilities and the fact that each can very easily destroy the opposition if you know how to use them

Because, you need to be able to take salty abuse everytime you try to play em, most people can't. I play a lot of orisa and sombra, and people instantly freak out and get salty, pay no attention to good plays, no attention to the other members of the team going in 1b1. ect. Any of the heroes you mentioned, it's the same thing. They are all really strong in the right situation, but most teams won't work with them, even going so far as to NOT HEAL YOU. Which is very counter productive to the SR nuts. I laugh at people getting salty for no reason (privately), and don't reply to them if they are unreasonable. My general drill is: 1. pick the non-meta, judge their reaction. 2. If they are immediately salty and telling me that character is useless and needs to swap, i mute them (Or listen if i feel like a laugh, maybe use orisas VL "Sorry, but i cannot do that" ) 3. If they roll with it, i'll communicate and make calls like normal. if they get salty mid-way i'll swap if they give a reasonable reason, or if i feel i'm not playing too well. I find, a lot of teams will be unco as hell and go in 1b1, staggered, and blame the non-meta. (While i'm sitting back spamming group up "Sombra you are donig nothing!") I have better situational awareness than most of the salty fools, because i play a LOT of support where you need to have good awareness of your teammates and enemies to play them well. If people spent more time scrutinising themselves as much as they do their teammates, people wouldn't be stuck in "Elo hell" :p You climb naturally. i kept hovering between 2400-2600. then i decided to learn orisa. got 16 wins in a row. Went straight up to 3002. Look at the saltiness as something to laugh at, and look at your own faults, instead of the randoms you don't control, you'll have a much better time.

The toxic shit in the community is so annoying, Reaper in no way is "bad" hes just sadly over shadowed by solder and roadhog, soldier is still just the best dps, and roadhog kills tanks extremely well, pretty much filling reapers roll. Which sucks because reaper was, and arguable still is the most balanced hero, hes never had a major balance change. And now he pretty much needs a buff or people will continue to think hes not "viable"

a lucky hook isn't unfairness. And i'm not sure what game you're playing, but Genji doesn't counter hog. nearly all times that he 1v1s him, Genji is gonna die to a smart hog, since he lacks the DPS to off him, and all hog has to do is make him burn his reflect before hooking. The only three counters to hog are Pharah, Rein, and Orisa

I don't know what video you where watching^^ it's Reaper not Genji. Reaper is the character who is supposed to be a tank buster so Roadhog with no armor and no shield should be an easy target for him (spoiler: he isn't because Roadhog is broken af). Roadhogs hook is unfair in itself, just because something is in the game doesn't mean it's fair or balanced. And an ability that allows a 600hp tank to pull someone into his whole team and oneshot them if they're not a tank themselves can't possibly be balanced. Especially if we take into consideration that Roadhog is the best hero in close quarters combat (which should be reaper but he isn't), he has one of the best ults in the game and that he can heal himself for 300 hp.

Reaper has a few little tricks you can do that actually have quite an impact: 1) If you start a reload then use Wraith Form you will leave it with a full clip 2) You can cancel the last bit of the reload with a melee attack. It doesn't speed you up in any way, but it does give you free 30 damage in close quarters combat (such as when shooting in a big ol' grav pile) 3) Much like Pharah, Reaper's ult has no cast time. As such, its always a good idea to first shoot one shot and then immediately ult afterwards. Its not much, but the extra damage on a Roadhog or some fatty like that might make all the difference. 4) I'm not sure if this one is true, but apparently you can cancel the overly loud "REAPOSITIONING" shout by using a voice line right before or while you do it.

Is Reaper so "bad" in higher elos??? I mean... I'm main Reaper for a while, and it's work well if the enemy team doesn't have a good Pharah (what can be countered by a Soldier as another DPS if I keep the Reaper) But of course, my higher elo was 3100. So, down here in "plat" we're glad enough if there is no Hanzo, Widow and Torb on team.
