Friday Night Funkin' is a Newgrounds rhythm game made in HaxeFlixel originally created for Ludum Dare 47. Programmed by ninjamuffin99 with a soundtrack produced by Kawai Sprite and artwork created by PhantomArcade and evilsk8r, the game can be played on Newgrounds or played/downloaded for free on Itch.io.
The plot of the game centers around Boyfriend trying to hook up with Girlfriend, but her ex-rockstar father Daddy Dearest doesn't approve of him. It's up to Boyfriend to rap battle his way through him and anyone else that stands in his way so that he can finally get freaky! Think you got what it takes?
Friday Night Funkin' is an ongoing project that will continue to receive updates, bug fixes and new content. A full version of the game is currently in development, having been successfully funded via a Kickstarter campaign. Check the changelog here for information on the latest updates. wow, this was truly an overwritten v2! i really loved when anthony!bf said "it's overwriting time" and overwrote all over the corruption, and bf said "thank you for overwritten!" and anthony!bf said "no problem boyfriend xml from friday night funkin" and then the EVIL corruption said "nuh uh, this isnt over yet, you're going over the edge" and then bf became evil so he had to fight anthony!bf but then soul boyfriend xml said "this is enough over the edge" and then soul bf and bf teamed up and beat up evil boyfriend with the help of anthony!bf. i almost shed a tear, truly the Overwritten | Over the Edge of all time

HOLY SHIT! when i saw that u were gonna make a remake fo it i didnt think much, tought that it would be just some slight sprite improvement or something, but BOY was i wrong The sprites are SO GOOD! they are unique (especially bf's) smooth and well tought out Corrupted bf puppetiering bf was something i did NOT expect, as well as the new lines from Pico and GF, which are so corny and funny, but it really does work, it fits SO MUCH with the characters lmao (The "PICO!" that GF screamed was so genuine i'm crying) Pico singing on his og voice was really nice to hear, even if it was just for 5 seconds, i love to see a proper pico in covers The detail of when bf starts to get insane/without ANY will to fight, his health still getting down even when HE sings is so cool (and also his health going fully down when he gets puppetiered by Corrupted bf) The icons are also so cute and cool, specially the winning ones And also the extra, again, did NOT expect it, but it's a welcome surprise, spirit helping in the outside while bf and soul fights in the inside is such a cool idea, they really ARE uniting against a common enemy, and i always will love that concept, and also BF slowly uncorrupting INSIDE his mind really shows that they fully ERASED the corruption from every spot possible uuh i never know how to finish these bigass comments so uh When bf said its bf'ding time and bf'ened all over bf''s mind i bf'elt that

This was awesome, I really loved the everything about this one in particular. The voices where really the unique, the story of the song was very original. And that thing that happened was really awesome! Incredible stuff, I was on my toes until the very end and even a bit after that!

You sir, have officially won the peak award. I genuinely was not expecting this to be as amazing as it was, but holy shit was I wrong, and a 2 in 1 as well??!! I think the main thing that's super good is each and every sprite, like god damn, behold the god of sprite animations, Possessed, lmao. The sprites I especially love are BF's at 4:37 along with Soul BF, and BF's at parts like 1:05. But it's not just the sprites and covers that are awesome, the events in the song are ALSO equally as great! It almost feels like Spirit BF (or maybe this is actually whats happening, idk) is helping, and hell, PROUD of BF for gaining confidence at the end of Overwritten, and I fucking love that. Y'know, speaking of the end part of Overwritten, I just got to mention the voice acting/dialogue in this. That GF and Pico part got me dying tho 💀But anyways, the voice actors did such a great job fr. The transition from Overwritten to Over the Edge is such a good one ngl. They all really thought they were home free lmao. Tbh, CBF getting uncorrupted slowly at the end of the song is a really nice idea, I always thought that once a corrupted character (CBF for example) gets uncorrupted/disappears within their mind, that just means that the Corruption is completely gone from them (and maybe that's whats happening? who knows). Well, I enjoyed this video a lot ong, fantastic work to everyone involved here!

SPOILER WARNING. I love that spirit is a good guy and particularly just enjoy how unique all the voices are, particularly the ones that BF has when he is losing hope completely and covering his head, as well as the one he has when he is being controlled by CBF. The poses they all have are very unique throughout, and I feel like BF really got done justice here in a way I've never seen before. Positive spirit is also always awesome to see. And I like how CBF starts off completely at the danger zone at the bar in breaking point! His voice is also awesome and he looks completely fantastic. Spirit Boyfriend was truly vital throughout all of this for the corruption to be defeated! I wonder how they are going to compensate him for his hard work?
