My friends and I looked forward to the Michigan Renaissance Festival every year when we were in high school. Owain Phyfe's performances were always a highlight for me. What an amazingly talented musician. Can't believe he's gone.

I would give anything to have been able to chat with him for a while. Never got to meet him and these videos make me sad but also appreciative that we have them to watch.

I was lucky enough to meet Owain once. We talked a bit. Then I drug my tired arse from the list to watch him perform. Maybe it was affectation, but when he played this, I swear he seemed to find me in the crowd. I was honored, as a HEMA fighter, to have him play this several times while I was in attendance. I miss this voice these days.

I loved seeing him every weekend at the ren faire. He'd play at the wine tasting area, and I'd always request "If I Were A Blackbird". I had the pleasure of sharing a bottle of mead with him and a few others that worked in the area. A spectacular soul. He will be dearly missed.
