Fabulous images of the Tawny owls - they are amazing creatures and I really admire your patience and field skills in getting close to them. Also, I loved the video of the adult and the chick in silhouette in the trees. Thank you!

The skills of fieldcraft with Owls is not about getting close to them but being able NOT to get too close when they have Owlets. Not sure what the law is in Norway but if Trond had got this close to Tawny Owls with Owlets here in the UK, he’d probably have been braking the law.
@SimonFloryPhotography25 күн бұрын
@@Gazzab6 I don't see any evidence in this video of the owls being disturbed from their normal behaviour. It looks like the owls are showing their natural behaviour; and whilst they are aware of the photographers being present, they are not being disturbed at all.
@Gazzab625 күн бұрын
@ I agree with you but as a photographer you don’t know that at the time. Stress can be caused to the owls subconsciously but as the adults have young, there is a law of how close you can get (there is here in the UK).

Awesome, congrats on the images and the amazing footage! I've found one in my local forest, heard it do what I think is some sort of alarm call for about 20 minutes straight twice, a couple of weeks apart during dawn. But during the daytime, no chance. Hoping for better luck in autumn, when there are fewer leafs on the trees.
