I saw a theory once that said "the curse is not real, its just something that came from the grieving mind of Edith Finch". In essence, the family let the "curse" take hold of their life and mind, to the point that everyone on the family expected to die and just.. didn't care? Some deaths are just accidental but a few are pure negligence. Was it the curse thar built the child swing on a cliff? Or was it a stupid negligent decision?. Did the curse drown the baby or was it a mother's neglect. Even the poem of how they say "the baby was probably happy in his last moments, so you should be happy too" when referring to how "it wasn't her fault, it was the curse" just puts more weight on the idea that they are just numb to it because its all that darn curse and not their fault.

So this is the "chaos" of hololive, pretty cute huh

I saw a fan theory that Bae is the REAL guardian of civilization, and Mumei, who is actually the avatar of chaos, has tricked Bae into thinking that Bae is chaos as a prank. This scene...really feeds into that headcanon for me. So many feels for innocent human life and the misuse of technologies. Bae is such a responsible, empathetic leader of the Council!

Imagine that after the stream, Fauna just hugged Baelz tightly while the latter cried hard in her arms for minutes on end. ...Dang it, now I want to see fan art of that.

As chaotic as Bae is, she's still a very gentle person. I'm glad Fauna was there to be emotional support ❤

Who will say it, that The most seiso and kindheart of council would be the Chaos... It was nice to see this face of Bae, very touching

Oh man, Bae is so precious.. Imagine having an empathy so big that you literally cry at a video game. Not saying that not crying don't make you have empathy but Bae is just next level... Kusogaki is such a softbol inside. Love her

I didn't cry here because it is framed so comically. I think the first time I bawwed my eyes out was Planetarian and that's a freekin kinetic novel. Steins;Gate nailed me too. (If you don't see it coming, it is a gutpunch.)

@@starshade7826 I knew it was coming in Steins;Gate, but reading for like 30 hours and being incredibly invested made it hurt worse.
@Claudekr2 жыл бұрын
It's not the video game part that surprises me, some are very well written and after 30+ hours of engagement can have a big impact on people even if they don't have such empathy. It's the fact that there was 0 setup, and you know from the moment the mom walks away what's going to happen. All the usual storytelling elements that would make people cry are missing.

Know this is an older vid but to provide some extra perspective as an Aussie. With the pool / water sports culture in Aus, we have constant safety ads about not leaving your young children alone in and around pools and how quickly they could drown on the radio and TV here. Usually starting with a kid laughing and playing, the sound of them falling into the water and then some splashing and silence and a note at the end on how quickly someone can drown. So the scenario feels very close to home coming from an Aussie perspective.

What Remains of Edith Finch is an emotional roller coaster, though it's really good that Fauna and Bae were there for each other, that game hits the feelies, super good they could lean on each other through that game though!

Calvin jumps off a swing that is positioned facing a cliff, Molly ate the poisonous mistletoe berries left hanging outside her bedroom, Gus gets crushed by debris while flying a kite in a storm and refusing to go inside, Sam gets punted off a cliff by a deer he shot and was trying to take a photo of, Walter takes a walk on some train tracks, and little Gregory is left alone in a bathtub. I'm pretty sure the Finch Family Curse is that they're a buncha FOKKIN IDIOTS.
