This video was a lifesaver!! Thank you so much for uploading. If i can figure out how to get power to the control panel then I’m all done!

No problem! You can use an atx power supply or arcade ones. You just need +5v, +12v and ground

This is SO COOL... but also took me down a memory lane. My dad used to repair all kinds of electronics, back in the day (1970s and 1980s) in the old country (the USSR, it no longer exists). Must... make... fun... of... self... *fakes a heavy accent and an old lady voice* "Kids these days, with their pretty colorful wires. Back in my day, in the old country, we had the black wire, and if we also had the red wire, we were grateful for the variety!" LOL! (Also, a soldering gun, with soldering wire and some orange stones... that were probably made of rosin? I vaguely remember that most wires were attached and detached with a soldering gun -- whether it's an Atari, or a radio, or a rotary phone... HA! Anyway.) Thanks for the upload! I love how this stuff is both simple and very complex at the same time.

If people don't get it after this, then I don't knownwhat to tell them. Good Job man. Thank you if people don't say it enough. Take care man, from Sacramento Ca.. Cheers

i'm a bit late to the party but hey, I'm changing from pc jamma to pandora jamma and on the original harness setup the player grounds were all being fed to main ground on 1+2, aaand so they aren't working. Should i reroute them to the pin 28 ground? Also on the pandora box do the pin 28 grounds loop back / split off to the main grounds 1+2?
@Omegaweapon Жыл бұрын
Hi, on the Pandora jamma, you'll need to wire it to a power supply. +12v for power +5v for the positive button/joystick side, GRND for the let's call it -5v. There should be a black daisy chain on the harness, rush go to your buttons etc but the loop back is the thick black ground wire to the power supply.
@obsidian295 Жыл бұрын
@@Omegaweapon legend thanks for the reply. The power is working properly - I already rigged up the power supply but the only button that works is the coin start. I'm using the old harness because I didn't get one with the pandora. it was mostly rigged up the same anyway but all the grounds fed back to the main one with the thick cable (and not/nothing connected to the end pin 28). In this video and on the pinout diagram in the booklet it says ground on end pin 28. I think my button grounds need to go there but I don't wanna nuke it.
@Omegaweapon Жыл бұрын
@@obsidian295 that's weird that only the start button works. Try making sure the only ground you're using is the ground chain. Then again I'm only familiar with the harness in the vid, I don't do jamma much. If you're in Oz I've got a bunch of harnesses here, I'll flick one your way
@obsidian295 Жыл бұрын
@@Omegaweapon got it working, i pulled all the wires apart, traced back the button grounds to the harness and for some reason they were going to speaker negative lol. dodgily cut and spliced all the button ground cables together to pin 28 and pin 1/2. everything works. praise the lord. thanks again for your time chief, cheers

Best video on the subject. Nice and to the point? I’m going to be using a usb jamma harness for players 3&4, do I still need to worry about the power wire and grounds for p3 and p4?

Hi there, I have a Pandora DX, all wired up to this black harness I think called CHAMMA. The one you are also using in this video. Will I be able to simply plug in an original Jamma board (original pi2Jamma or RGB-PI Jamma for instance) into that black chamma panel? Only have to take care the direction: power vs control side. thank you
@Omegaweapon2 жыл бұрын
Yes definitely, it's a standardised system so anything with the Jamma plug will work fine
