I really feel like the Starchild (I have the Akashic edition) is such a meditative and spiritual deck! It's really made for introspection and for working with deep matters. I've never been so "drawn in" as I am with this deck, I'm not really one to meditate with a tarot card, but I feel like I could with this one. It just does something calming with my soul. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and comparing them, Raecine! :)

I’m so attracted to the Akashi starchild deck. The use of the pastels and imagery is just gorgeous and amazing. I’m new to learning tarot and have a really old yet beautiful in its own way deck gifted to me which I am using as my “training”. However I am in search of a deck that I feel drawn to and this deck is one out of 2 others which I am very captured by. Thanks for the comparisons I didn’t know there was another deck similar

Each deck is gorgeous. I felt an instant connection to my Starchild Tarot Akashic when it arrived. I am looking forward to getting the first edition when it gets re-released but the Akashic edition has not failed to please me. Thanks for doing this comparison. Loved hearing your thoughts on each deck. Plus the sexy card stock makes it worth it.

The Akashic edition isn't calling to me like the first one. I am eagerly awaiting the re-release of the original Starchild which will also be available in a borderless format! Woohoo!

Are you talking about the release of the standard size for the Starchild or is Danielle re releasing the original again as well? I want the first one so bad. I'm not feeling the Akashic deck although I would like to have it after I get the first if course.

I could be wrong but I thought she said the original Starchild would be available in both standard size and as a smaller borderless deck.

Wonderful comparison/review. I have both of these decks, and while there are things I prefer about the first Starchild Tarot (such as the backing and the smooth way it shuffles), the Akashic edition reads better for me and has become more of a working deck. I think I connect to it more because of the extra layers and sacred symbols used. Also, might I just say, your vintage style is absolutely divine! Love

Hey owl, do you find it hard to read from starchild deck directly? I feel like I would be referencing the old meanings from my Rider Waite or Thoth decks constantly as I don't really understand the symbolism in some of the cards. eg. starchilds Chariot.

So, I found this video because I just received the borderless version of the Akashic and I didn't even realize that there was a non-Akashic version of this deck! I had a lot of criticisms of the Akashic deck and I find it a little hard to work with - I also don't know why cards like the Hierophant kept their name when so many of the others changed, especially since there's nothing about that Hiero card that I felt accurately portrayed the archetype... anyway, thanks for the side-by-side. I am glad I found this video.

Here in Europe, these tarot cards are not available. I have looked for them in Amazon and IBS, but no way to get them. What a pity ! I am one of your followers and I like your videos. You are a gentle person! Ciao, Marina

You can get them anyway! I'm in Sweden and I have the Starchild Tarot, and also an Australian deck. :) You order the Starchild Tarot by going to the website, but of course be prepared that the shipping price is quite expensive and you might have to pay taxes to get your parcel. I had to for this deck... All in all it ended up costing about 71 euro. But honestly, it's worth it! The quality is amazing and it's something you can use your whole life as long as your house doesn't get flooded or something. :)
