Owning two c5'd one FRC fully built and a convertible with simple bolt ons, you nailed a lot of the reality. As you mention weight of any competitive car can work in your (our) favor. With the Convert I have pulled 392's several times, but where my advantage should be an asset...regardless the BFTB/Bang For the Buck is defiantly in the C5's favor. in my opinion. Re the FRC with KtechLS3 fully built so far nothing has beat it and that includes some Super Car stuff, Hellcats, etc. I came out of 35 years of M3's and Porsche turbos into the c5 and I have never looked back except for the interior build quality, although I can live with it. Man this is such a great video! I've always wondered what It'd be like to explore other platforms. If the C5 is this enjoyable, I can't even fathom how much better the ownership experience would be with a C5 Z06 let alone a C6. Hope you come back to Camaro tho!

Awesome content and informative content. None of the street racing shennanigans. Just a little correction. The LS3 wasn't introduced until the 2008 model year. Prior to that it was the LS2 with 400Hp and 400Tq. Looking to pick up a C5 or C6 in the near future.

@ScottBoudreau1826 as far as fun they are both and the corvette might be a little more due to light weight but you will feel the outdated real fast!

5th gens are way better for drag racing and roll racing compared to c5 unless you ls3 swap the c5 imo

I say the same thing about 5th and 6th gen the 6th is a sports car but I only want one because of the weight reduction but 2014 15 is what I really want I love the muscle look

Just weigh options and go for what weight more, want to be faster yeah mod for mod (no supercharger) 6th will be faster but if you want that muscle classic look go 5th gen

I currently own a Gen5 Camaro. 6mt 2SS with Rs appearance package. My biggest complaint is weight. Period. It feels like a muscle car, not a sports car. Its heavy, it accelereates like its heavy, and handles like its heavy. Its plwnt fast enough to go from 0-felony in a hurry, but it lacks the sports car feel. To make any reasonable power it takes quite alot of money to mod the ls3, and with that comes needed drivetrain and axle upgrades. They are known to shear stock axles at stock power levels, and the tear gear is way too long. The 3.45s are just not suitable for it. Part of me has always wished I had gotten a c5 before prices went up. Now im debating on selling my 2010 SS in leiu of a low mileage c5 or decent mikeage c5 z06. I flooked for months for a c5 or c6 ls2 car but couldnt find what i wanted and to this day i feel like i bought the wrong car.

I can't stand the way LS cars drive. It's all or nothing. And they loose a ton of power 60mph+ especially the Camaro. Vette is a little more enjoyable because it's lighter and lower.
