If it’s warm conditions, it pays to run a sprinkler lightly over the concrete slab for a solid week to lock in the moisture. It helps the Concrete cure more slowly and make it stronger prevent cracking.

Another way to do it is to put old carpet all over the slab and wet it with the garden hose. Gives the concrete even more protection from the direct sun. Works like a charm every time!

cutting the metal panels with a grinder is better.

Definitely easier but not better. Cutting with a grinder is “hot” cutting which damages coating’s (in this case zinc) which leads to premature corrosion on the cut edge. Cutting with shears or snips “seals” the cut and doesn’t damage the surrounding coating.

It was actually just the sealant residue we discovered 😀
