Still open 3 years later! Thank you to the new owner for keeping it going.

What a wonderful blast from the past. Vintage retro at it's finest. Can only hope the new ownership does keep it as is. If so, would love to visit the place!

I love the old Brunswick ball runs and masking units. My grandfather owned candlepin alleys for 60 years, and had the very same ones.

We had a bowling alley like this in my home town, straight out of the 70's. It smelled like cigarettes and always played the best old country. You stepped back in time when you walked in there. It's sad that people can't have fun anymore without a TV screen around. I'm only 21 and I yearn for more places like this. To forget about what's going on outside and step into a place from a time gone by. Where you have fun without a TV screen and just get to live life a little more simple.

This is literally a piece of history and a time capsule. Back when you had to be very accurate. Lacquer lanes. Heavy pins. Rubber balls. I read the comments. Split house AMF and classic Brunswick. Just the original masking units alone. The original benches. Maybe even the lockers. If they don't keep things as is. Don't destroy history please. We had an old candlepin alley. Split house close. Went back to 1918. You don't get them back. This place makes me remember Dick Weber, Don Carter, Bo Burton, Billy Hardwick, Billy Welu, Don Johnson. Earl Anthony.

That place is so nice and ready to go, I wouldn’t change a thing it’s perfect. I’d put some classic arcade games in that’s about it. I wonder how it’s going now ? 4/23/23 If it’s still open I need to go see and enjoy the classic feeling I so deeply miss ✌️🇺🇸

I’d go to this place over some modern alley just because it has all this old school stuff

Thornton Hall is my favorite bowling alley. Though I live 200 miles away in Columbus, I try to visit a couple of times a year.

How come on some camera shots of the lanes, there are AMF masking units and other camera shots Brunswick Gold Crown masking units?
@LANESxNOWONLYx3 жыл бұрын
It's a split house, 22 lanes on one side & 22 lanes on the opposite side. One side sports the AMF masking units & the other side sports the Brunswick masking units.

There's an alley in Lansing, IL with the same Brunswick ball returns. Looks identical.

love the look but teams and bowlers move on to synthetic lanes and auto scorers. i love keeping score but most people don't and can't.
@billp42 жыл бұрын
I hope that's not true (people not being able to keep score).

I don’t have a problem with Lanes and scores. But I don’t like above ground surface Ball Returns because sometimes I almost got trip over by those and also hitting the Ball against them as I swing.

Make it into a homeless shelter
@sgtpepper11382 жыл бұрын
Why on earth would you make a classic bowling alley, that's still original and intact (not common these days) into a homeless shelter? Don't get me wrong, I'm all about trying to make sure everyone is housed, but why would you say that about a place like this?
@Mark382792 жыл бұрын
@@sgtpepper1138 clearly he’s not a bowler. Bowlers everywhere would be appalled if that ever happened to this place.
