Ownership Update On My Honda S2000

I've had my 2008 Honda S2000 for about 4 years now and as expected from a Honda, those 4 years have basically been trouble and maintenance free. The great thing about the Honda S2000--and Hondas and Toyotas in general0--is the peace of mind that no matter where or how far you are going, these cars will get you from point A to B without an issue. However, there are drawbacks to the Honda S2000 to be sure: its cramped, it has no storage, its loud, and if you want instant power or torque this is the last car you should own. Though its VTEC engine is endearing to most enthusiasts, the other comprises I have to make with this car definitely push it down the list of my top 5 or 10 favorite cars to drive. Don't get me wrong, it can still be a blast to drive under certain conditions and I still say its my "best car to drive quick", but I have found myself pondering whether to move on from my Honda S2000 over the past few years. As of now, I haven't pulled the trigger as there's no other comparable roadster or sports car I would want for the time being. Until then, I'll keep ringing out this engine to 7500 rpm and waiting for the engine to explode :)

I just took home an entire cart of groceries in my AP2, Laguna Blue just like yours. I can fit two away bags if going on a trip with my girl. I don't daily drive it but it would be up to the task most of the time if I didn't have my other cars. I don't find the torque a big issue on the AP2 with it's lower gears. I skipped the hard top because I can just drive one of my hard tops if i feel like that. I'd look at selling the hard top since they go for silly money and enjoy the car open, where it's purpose is much more clear versus the other cars we own, allow it to come into it's own.

You must need a shifter refresh if you don’t think it feels “good”. Never really heard any negative reviews on the s2k gearbox

@@Jayn911 let me qualify. It feels good when not compared to my NSX, 1M or Ford GT. But in all seriousness, I don’t hate it. I just don’t think it’s as amazing as many others believe. But then I again I own and drive a lot of manuals. Thanks for the view and comment. 🙏🏻

i feel like at this point you should let the car go. all the reasons you state of not liking the car like *having rev out the engine* is quite literally how the car was designed and meant to be driven.
