Really enjoyed your review! I have a 2016 M4 Competition and have had it for a bit over 5 years. Loved every minute! I also upgraded the taillights and seat badges to LCI. big difference, I agree! I also have the Silverstone interior and I’m a big fan. One upgrade you might consider is the black Alcantara center armrest. It nicely separates the two white seats visually. I live in Texas and routinely drive 1000 miles to see family in Arizona. GREAT highway car as I can average a bit under 27 miles per gallon. Enjoy your car in good health! 🍻🏁

No idea the M4 was ever spec’d with sunroof 😮 Interestingly the rear springs is a common issue, I’ve just had mine done but you couldn’t tell there was an issue to start with. Tax for me on the M4c is £16.45 pcm and insurance is £99 pcm. Finally, I’ve not had any issues with mine other than listed after 2.5 years of ownership. I do give mine a good blast up too.

Yea if you take care enough of it, regular servicing, not launching it every chance you get the S55 and this platform is very reliable. Also one of the previous owners that had the car tuned got the crank hub done I found out so I don't have to worry about that either. And yea Ireland is a terrible country for car enthusiasts. I seriously wouldn't mind living in the UK

@@MihaiDCars absolutely, I get a full service done all the time, it’s always the maintenance skipping for any vehicle that causes issues. Mines on the standard hub, after so many videos and debates I came to the conclusion unless you’re planning on pushing more power you should be fine. Seemed like one of them issues the internet likes to escalate. I’m not sure about living in the UK, dreams aren’t exactly made right here either 🤣

The crank hub goes due to hard changes of power. Standard S55s can destroy them too. If someone is driving in 7th gear doing 60 and then just boots it and it jumps down into 3rd to accelerate that has a chance of breaking it and using launch control is a big one. These ofc are if you keep doing it over and over and over and over again. So basically abusing it. But at that point you have other things you're wearing out as well

Realistically how do you find driving this in the winter and on wet Irish roads? about to get an F80 M3 but concerned I wont be able to enjoy it most of the year here in the UK...

I don’t go about booting it every time I go out in it. However it’s not as hard to control as you might think. DTC is very much on point if you leave it on. So I say maybe play around with it on and turn it off whenever you’re more comfortable

When you say Service, do you mean a simple oil change and coolant, etc. or do you mean a full engine, oil, flush and coolant flush?

Nobody services coolant regularly. Oil, oil filter, air filters, cabin filter, full inspection and labour. That's what a regular service at BMW looks like. Anything else and extra will cost more, obviously.
