I've been watching yoyo freestyles for 13 years now, and without any doubt I can say this is the best scoring and visually appealing freestyle I've seen.

I have a bias toward 2A since I've only gotten back into yo-yos recently and larger than life 2A performances back in the '90s in Hawaii were what pulled me in. 1A is so difficult these days, yet my amazement has rarely turned into excitement when watching any of them, save a few Evan Nagao performances. I'm just so bad that there's a disconnect since everything seems equally hard to me. Performances are usually like that Friends meme where they say without the laughing track, you wouldn't know where to laugh. It's that but with the audience applause lol. But this was different. Obviously I'm no one and my weird opinions don't matter, but I just had to say that this was the first 1A performance since getting back into it that has really glued me to the screen. Amazing routine!

Awesome performance! How can you achieve this all-black scenario? Is all about the correct illumination angle?
@ShawnFumo3 жыл бұрын
There's the "inverse square law" for lighting. Basically what that means in this case is that the brighter the light, the closer the light is to the person, and the farther the person is from the background will all make the background appear darker. Also make sure the camera has some kind of exposure setting you can lock, and set it so the person isn't too bright (and so it won't be changing as the person moves around). The more matte finish the background is (like a cloth or paper made for this purpose), the less it'll reflect light. If you can't help having a very reflective background, you'll want the light higher and/or to the side so the light isn't reflecting straight back into the camera. Then there's various other general photography/videography stuff if you just want to look good. Like a larger light or even a lightbox will look less harsh. Usually want the light around eye level or slightly higher (too low gives "monster" lighting and too high gives racoon eyes). Can use a second light or a reflector (even a big piece of white paper or cardboard will work) from a different angle to "fill" shadows to make them look less dark. You could even do something fun like use a phone or tablet to shine a little bit of color light onto a corner of the background to make it look cooler if you wanted. Will all require playing around a bit, but there's lots of ways you do "pro" stuff on the cheap (like putting some white cloth in front of a light to make a lightbox, etc).

Kick off the ashes and fly up, ꧁𖤍𖤓Ꭾիѻєɳıẋ𖤓𖤍꧂. He must be the ultimate 𓆩Phoenix𓆪 He is indeed the Invincible strongest. All who have challenged him have been knocked out, including me... There is nothing more to say. "digression" He shares the same name as Mir, the main character in Mir & goon Magic fighter, a 2005 republic of Korea children's drama show I watched as a kid, and the main character in that drama show was also a very skilled yoyo master. In many ways, he's a real-life version of him.
