I like, despite wrestling being scripted, they acknowledged reality. Ox saying that nobody realistically could beat Andre The Giant and the territories honoring that says a lot about just how great wrestling is and always will be.

I know it's been mentioned in several of the Ox Baker shoot videos, but it's still worth mentioning, again; keep in mind,... Baker is *_SEVENTY FIVE YEARS OLD_* ,...at the time of this recording!! All things considered, he looked _HELLA' GOOD_ ,...for his age/profession/etc.! Continue to RIP, Ox!

Escape from New York was released in 1981. Bruiser Brody died July 17, 1988. I wonder if Ox is confusing him with someone else?
@bigrigjoe513014 сағат бұрын
Between working gimmicks and concussions (Plus drugs), wrestlers are rarely accurate Ric Flair claims he was there when Brody was murdered and didn't care. Why lie about a story that makes you an asshole?

Right right right said 1989.

I am thinking the same thing. He must be confusing Brody with another wrestler.
@bryanjacobsen500513 сағат бұрын
Either that or Brody couldn't do it for another reason? Hard to say what the true story is without further clarification.

OX was 75 or 76, during this interview. It's understandable for him to get confused on a date that happened almost 40 years before.

Ox was once a contestant on The Price is Right. He also wrote a cookbook which I've been looking for for years.

"The Ugly American!" I wish I'd have gotten the opportunity to illustrate one of his comics back when he was doing them! Super nice fella!

Ol' Ox's description of Nancy Argentino's death didn't really age well. According to 'the story he heard', Snuka was allegedly 'training her to be a wrestler', he picked her up for a piledriver on the bed, and he slipped. Then gangsters ran him out of wrestling after that.

Based on his age, his prime was the mid 1950's to the late 1970's at best.

Payed Harley $10,000 for training, he was broke

Ox must’ve been confused because the movie was released years before Brody was stabbed.

Besides the Escape From New York screwup here, on KZbin you can see Ox Baker on the WWWF TV matches for one appearance when Backlund was champion. Ox Baker could barely move. There was no way he was fit to headline those big 17,000 - 22.000 seat arenas vs Backlund. They sent him on his way.

Acting is not rocket science. The reason wrestlers don't get more acting gigs is because they don't have the right connections. It has nothing to do with acting ability. Acting is all about who you know and who you blow. Talent has very little to do with it.

The most disappointing thing I’ve seen in wrestling was DDP beating Scott Steiner. No way no how. And that killed wcw for me. Worse then David Arquette winning the title.
