Just picked these skates up getting back into the game after over a decade. Your review at Decathlon spurred me to get them. Great channel too! Love your aggressive skating style.

Nice 3-part reviews and helpful, thru extensive use from an experienced. With short trial after 40s, I really started late after 50s and fell a few times (some hard), I told myself to hang on until maybe 60s. Not picking my first 80mm skates from Oxelo was missing because one blade now was bendable after long use, another was totally alright maybe about manufacturing defect (soft shell, lighter, more gliding, lower but not frame changable)! In the near future I think I still need another sturdier while not too tech for a few more years. As you pointed out usefully, upgrading and changing parts were easy and the boots held up well. I inline-skated partly as a substitute for other more strenuous sports. I found skating was indeed a quite suitable activity among middle-aged, in certain way. Inline skating was not unusual here but tending enclosed within a set range of smooth area. Your road surface appeared satisfactory for 80mm wheels. (Thanks again as your positive review enhanced my considering another gears such as SUP/kayak/tent from Decathlon.) Your skating style was really pumping up cardio-vascular, cheers.

Hey, thanks for your comment! 😁 I think skating is something that can be done for the long term as the intensity can be varied and it is generally low impact. As for the MF500 skates; I think they are a great overall choice due to the pros I referred to in the in-depth review. They’re affordable, versatile, and they’ll last. 👍

Interesting how the top companies push the envelope with developing high end products and over time they become old tech. Some factories in China have the moulds for some of the older basic products which become open moulds.There are a lot of budget options with this plastic shell boot that looks like a Rollerblade Twister or some sort of FR variation and they can be great entry level options for people wanting to get into skating. Thanks for highlighting these!

Thanks, Dude. I think it’s a win win. It hopefully encourages more people to try skating who will inevitably want to buy branded skates at some point.

Thanks for the video! What is the difference between mf 500 and fit500?
@RichHayterSkater Жыл бұрын
The FIT seems to be a soft shell, the MF500 is a hard shell boot.

Thanks Dude. They do, they’re not the lightest skates, and they have 2 part axle pins - they’re not good. But £70 is a great price for them.

Hi, Are they comfortable to wear and ride?
@RichHayterSkater3 жыл бұрын
I do get pressure points on the inside of both ankles just at the top of the joint; I personally don’t find this too bad but it is there. Certainly nothing that would stop me wearing them. I’ll be posting a proper review for these this year.

do you recommend getting a break pad thing on one of the skates to stop? or prefer to not use one
@RichHayterSkater3 жыл бұрын
I’ve never used an actual break so I can’t comment. My thought is that this would just get in the way. There are many great ways to stop on your skates. Check out my Power Stop tutorial! 👇 m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKbbaKimhNmAiNUh0m12s

This footage is amazing and very satisfying to watch. Sadly decatlhon stores are closed in germany because of the lockdown and they are sold out online. They are probably to slim for my big feet anyway. :(

@@RichHayterSkater Hey! I've never bought skates before and i was wondering if it was necessary to take 1 size bigger than shoes? Example i size 11 for shoes, is it necessary to take 12 for skates ? Or 11 is enough ? Thanks!
@RichHayterSkater4 жыл бұрын
Personally I ordered my regular shoe size, but it’s worth just checking their website to see what they recommend as some do advise you to up your sizing. There is usually a size guide with foot measurements so be sure and double check.

@@RichHayterSkater do you know what is equivalent to those skates?
@RichHayterSkater3 жыл бұрын
These are pretty standard, tbh, hard shell boot, 243mm frame, 4x80mm wheels; most brands do a skate like this which, I imagine, would be just as good if not better; the benefit here, however, is the price.
