The railway swing bridge is over Sheepwash Channel in Oxford. aka Rewley Road Swing Bridge. It's close to Oxford Station. The boat crew are certainly going to the very first IWA Rally at Market Harborough - the evidence is the boats at the basin - they are recorded in much of the press coverage of the time. In particular Narrowboat Elizabeth and BW working boat Ayr appears in many of the press cuttings of the time.

I'm sure the railway swing bridge was over 'sheepwash cut' in oxford. This is the link between the Thames and the canal up through 'isis' lock. www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3632224 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rewley_Road_Swing_Bridge

Hi this is definitely a trip to the 1950 festival. it is rare and important film, would it be possible to have a high quality copy for the archives of Foxton Canal museum? it would make a very good edition to the other footage we have and the stills etc. Mike Beech info@fipt.org.uk
