They all take my breath away! I do love the one featured in “A Discovery of Witches” but I would feel like a bull in a china shop. I live in Michigan and my town was founded in 1871. All these places were already there! Many of them before the US was a nation! If I went to school there I could have a Harry Potter room because I know where my time would be spent! Thank you for the tour!

Being surrounded by such architectural beauty and history must be a wonderful way to study and read; you are a very lucky lady. The ceiling of the last Library is just marvelous, no wonder, William Morris!

Thank you ever so much for taking the time to create this quite marvelous video. One library that most people never see is the old library at Merton College, which, I believe is the oldest continuously functioning college library in the world !!! As an Emeritus Prof. of Early Medieval History, and an Oxford academic for nearly forty years, I know most of the libraries included here very well, spending a fair amount of time in Duke Humfrey`s Library at the Bodleian, always a genuine delight. I may be mistaken, but I understood the films you mention did not take place within the Bodleian Library as such, but the interiors were digitally reconstructed elsewhere - far too higher a risk of damage to rare irreplaceable volumes. Anyway, thank you again- and very well done :)

Thank you so much for watching. I will have to visit the library at Merton, it sounds fascinating. I am at New which is of course a stunning college but with a rather mediocre library

@@cerridwencottagediary9194 You are most welcome. I hope you do have an opportunity to see Merton College old library - it is not often open to the general public, so I would suggest making an arrangement to visit. It is after all, around 700 years old, and was threatened with demolition in the past - so a rare survivor :) I wish you well with your studies, and you are enjoying the particular ambience that is Oxford !!!!

I looooooved this video; what a wealth of buildings, books and spaces. I couldn't possibily choose between them; just having one of those in the city I live currently would be such a treat! Thank you for bringing us along; this summer I will be in Oxford for a couple of days. Perhaps I can see some of them for myself (or perhaps they are closed).. This video put me very much in the Oxford mood ánd imagine all those cool books!!

I am so thrilled you liked it. We have lost a third of our subscribers after watching it so I thought it must be a bad video. Unfortunately most of the libraries I showed aren't open to the public. You can pay to go in a part of the Bodleian. I really hope you enjoy your visit!

@@cerridwencottagediary9194 haha, no prob :) I do have a question though; I hope you won't mind... Which college would you recommend staying at during the summer time for a couple of nights: Magpie, Mansfield, Magdalen or st Hughs? I hope you dont mind me asking. Feel free not to answer if you don't want to. xx Luke

@@luke28 I would stay in Magdalen (pronounced Maudlin). It is stunning, has lovely grounds, is central and is opposite the botanic garden. However my Mum and I stayed in St Hugh's several years ago when we came here on holiday and it was really nice but abit further out x
