My husband and I have been married for 29 years. I met him at high school and began datting in 1986, he proposed the engagement four years later and we got married in 1992. Our relationship is good, but sometimes we discuss and learn from each other. The most important thing in a relationship is respect, listen to each other and be patient.

Hi Margarete. Thanks for an excellent response. Here are a few suggestions for you: 1) '...and we began dating in...' not, '...and began datting in...' 2) '...1986. He proposed to me four years later...' not, '...1986, he proposed the engagement four years later...' 3) '...is respect, listening to each other and being patient,' not, '...is respect, listen to each other and be patient.' Hope this helps you!

Hi There Thanks to both of you. Very informative video. I like very much these words and sentences especially to pop the question. I am wondering where this idiom is from. I must look up it.
@Oxfordonlineenglish1
@Oxfordonlineenglish1 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Brigitte! Usually with these types of phrases, it takes something physical, such as to 'pop' unexpectedly, and makes it metaphorical. In this case, it would be to unexpectedly present the question.

Practice: She went out with him one or two times. She thought he seemed not very serious about their relationship. I learned that if you are unhappy, deal with now. Don’t let things fester. Make time for each other and give space to each other. I’ve seen people get married and then get divorced half a year later. Things have got a bit sour since the day the girl’s mother was diagnosed with a disease. It’s really hard to patch things up. My parents didn’t get on well at all.

I'm really into watching your videos. They're so informative and interesting, to be honest. I'm going to talk a little bit about my marriage. Please, help me correct mistakes if I get any. Thanks you in advance. My husband and I have been married for almost 5 years. We met each other owing to my relative's recommendations. We got married after 1 year of dating. My husband is such a good guy. He always support me to do housework and take care of our child in his free time. We never argue since we were together. I think the most important things in a relationship is sharing, empathy and giving each other some private space.

We're so glad you enjoy the lessons. Thanks for watching! Here are a few suggestions for your writing as well: 1) 'H always supports me...' not, 'support.' 2) '...supports me by doing housework,' not, 'to do housework.' 3) 'We have never argued since we have been together,' not, 'We never argue since we were together.' Hope this helps you!

I had a long distance relationship, we were together for almost three years, It started by a lot of energy and love and ful of patient, but by the time we had a whirlwind romance and we've taken things for granted, and of course we started fighting all the time, he was cheating on me all over the place, and he didn't seem serious about our relationship, so I've neglected him until we've broken up. Since that I'm so carful about dating somebody because I have a lot of baggage from my previous relationship, and I don't want to repeat the same mistakes over and over again with another person. For me, to have a successful relationship you must respect your partner choices and opinions, also you need to give him some of your time, and try to understand him ❤

Great Pamella, thanks for sharing! Here are some corrections for you: 1) '...three years. It started...' not, '...three years, It started...'. 2) '...started with a lot of...' not, 'by'. 3) '...love and it was full of patience...' not, '...love and ful of patient...'. Hope this is useful for you!

From then on, relationship sometimes went up and down, but we always got things out. I think the most important thing is that you know how to empathize, forgive, share and give others private space.

Please answer this....as there is a phrase called "marital status" to be used as a question to know about someone being single or married etc., is there any such phrase to be used to know if sb is vegetarian or non-veg? Instead of asking it using a simple question, "are you vegetarian or nonvegetarian"

Why did you use PPC and then past simple in the sentence "They've been living apart for ages and they finally got divorced last year" if the action "live apart" ended before the action "get divorce"? Why didn't you use: they had been living apart? I didn't get it.
