Ικαρία αγαπημένη! Το νησί που γεμίζει ελπίδα για το μέλλον, βλέποντας νέους ανθρώπους να μην κάθονται λεπτό κάτω απ το χορό. Η μπάντα υπέροχη. Ποιοι είναι?

Η αμπελοκουτσούρα είναι ένα τραγούδι που δεν χορεύονταν και έχει πολλούς στίχους, πολλοί αυτοσχέδιοι. Μια στροφή πήραν που λέει τη λέξη αμπελοκουτσούρα και την έχουν κάνει σημαία τα χορευτικά και σημερινά μουσικά συγκροτήματα. Η λέξη αυτή είναι ποιητική αδεία. Η συμπεθέρα δεν είναι χορός που λέγεται έτσι, αλλά είναι ο παλιός καριώτικος (και όχι Ικαριώτικος γιατί δεν προσφέρεται το γιώτα). In the "vine" portion of the dance - at the beginning - the right hand goes UNDER the left arm of the person in front of them. Most are not doing this. The correct way allows maximum movement and harmony of movement.

There are two versions of this dance, in the first (Symbethera) the hands are crossed in front, in the second hands are over the shoulders (Ikariotikos palios) You are asking for perfection where perfection is not possible. Most have learned this dance at home without dance lessons. This dance has three variations and change (slow to fast!) as you can hear from the music. Also as you can she the hands are crossed at the start of the dance and are held over the shoulders at the end of the dance. We are very pleased to see the younger generation dance the traditional dances.
