Can I just say I LOVE the way Johnny plays? Kasimir is a super interesting character and they're able to give him a lot of flavor while at the same time purposely making opportunities for Lillith to do what she's perfect for. It's the kind of self-awareness that I wish every roleplayer had.

The advantages of veteran dming, you really start to learn how to give certain people spotlight, which works wonders in your campaign, but arguably, is much more valuable when your in someone else's, and you can pass over attention.

@@senseweaver01 I wouldn't worry - I feel like Luke would probably run any possible consequences by Mike first. If something did end up happening to Barnaby, I don't think it would be malicious or unfair or out of the blue. (But I really don't think any permanent effects are going to come out of it. Maybe a plot device or character arc, but I doubt Luke would make any moves to damage Barnaby so early on. He's already a fan favourite!)

I say leave for an effect when stess causes Barnaby to Trauma out. Then it can all come flooding back and explain the Trauma's nature. And no full trauma doesn't kill you so much as break the PCs mind beyond functionality. I'm not fond of people calling game incapacity death in any form no matter how pedantic that sounds.

I feel caught between admiring and liking the Gut Cutter Gang and being very worried about them. Overall I like them, and the introduction of (sad scared little girl accepting bread then suddenly knifing a major gangster like black widow is priceless and Ellen/Lillith's reaction to the implication of a murdered orphanage worker is so relatable.

Ellen/Lillith's reactions to the murder children had me cackling, especially in contrast to Kasimir's complete lack of surprise. I'm glad they took Mumbles along, this score will be so much fun. The beginning with the whole group was fantastic as well. I can't wait to see what phase two has to offer. I wonder if the yet to be introduced storyteller has something to do with the bracer? I had expected the bracer to just be a cameo but now that it's plot relevant I'm thinking the Storyteller knows things about the Oxventurer guild of old, or at least about Geth in that time? Maybe this is one of several missions directly connecting this group to the old one? I'm impatient for answers.

Also I can imagine his utter confusion that things are worth only "one coin" and suddenly realizing Dob sunk the entire economy before a world wide… something happened to create the world of Blades in the Dark. I somehow feel the Dark Fantasy/pseudo pre-industrial revolution world of Grim Hollow would fit perfectly if anyone else (I could 100% see Jane enjoying a good Dark Fantasy Romp through Geth) took up the DM screen.

In a campaign I DM, we have "Totally not a Thieve's Guild." They are an orphanage that the matron taught the kids how to be rogues. Because of how things went, I rolled and the lowest leveled kid at that orphanage was level 7 and the highest is 20. What I'm getting at is the horrors of that orphanage existing in my favorite channel's universe makes me far too happy for something far beyond horrific. For the record, the orphanage lost its official name at some point and the sign out front does simply read in undercommon "Totally not a Thieve's Guild." and the level 20 is called Tiny Tiefling Tim.

Well, there’s probably some fire, unless they’re purely electric trains. Probably not diesel given the late Victorian vibes - Diesel-Electrics came in use around 1925 - so there probably is a good bit of fire running the boilers in the steam locomotives. Rewatching this again in-between S2 episodes, and having (since last year) started GMing a Blades group myself. Just wanted to say I love how the Oxventure gang make suggestions as players, especially Johnny. Case in point, when Johnny says "I take it there's a hierarchy of handshakes between people in the underworld, right?", it's such a brilliant bit of originality & creativity, and it's suggested in such a way that makes it so so easy to GM. *If* one of my players were original-enough to think that such a thing might be useful, first of all they'd probably talk themselves out of the idea in their heads, or if they did ask, would have asked something like "are there different types of handshake in this world, and if so, what are they all?" Which I know isn't too hard to redirect via a couple of questions ('why do you ask/what are you hoping to do?"), but Johnny just gets it across with such flow that lets everything run so slick...
