What a great video. I'm a 40 yo single woman and I never thought I'd have to learn how to do all this myself but these videos sure make it helpful! So thanks very much! What nobody asked yet, is how do you locate the back 02 sensor?? It's not under the trunk so I'll need to jack the car or get ramps or something!
@DaveMedicus3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I started learning everything because I didn't have the money to pay someone when I was younger. Now I refuse to pay someone because I have gained the confidence to do it myself. If I screw it up the only thing I am out is a tow bill and some time. lol The second sensor is located directly in front of the engine right after the converter. You may need to jack up the front a little bit to get enough access to it. Even some cheap ramps will work. Both parts look the same so that should help you find it.

@@DaveMedicus is the o2 sensor removed anticlockwise? Because mines really bloody stiff and just wanted clarification before I end up breaking something trying to get it off XD appreciate the video mate
@DaveMedicus2 жыл бұрын
@@benrampling812 yes. If it’s super tight you can try turning the car on for a little bit to heat up the metal to help loosen it up. Keep in mind it’s going to be really hot to work with. I usually spray some penetrating oil on it for a couple of days prior to anything like this. See if that helps. Also make sure you have a long bar for some torque on the adapter socket. Typically a breaker bar 18-24” will do you justice if you can get one in there. Also have the socket set up in as straight of a position as you can so that you aren’t fighting yourself.

does the check engine light have to be for the 02 sensor to be bad
@BeastmodeBeats4 жыл бұрын
charles foy no, it could also be a fuel trim issue, meaning the fuel pump relay is receiving too much Amperes, this could be due to a bad fuel pump relay or a short in the fuse box wires. The check engine light will come on if the fuel trim is too high. You lower it by ensuring the relays work properly and that the PCM circuitry isn’t overloaded. Of course the O2 sensors can also cause the check engine light to come on depending on the OBD code you receive.
