Hey man, just stumbling across this now, and I gotta say your sample choice is insane. Such a harsh metallic texture that's literally painful to listen to is something I would've stayed far away from, but your idea of pitching it down turned it into my favorite part of the whole track. Fuckin gorgeous brother, keep it up

Yo I've never seen that machine or DAW. My music journey started with guitar as a kid and I love using a loop station or pedal with different instruments and sounds but whenever I try to get into production again the thing that kills the magic for me is the software (maybe I just need to buckle down and get through learning it well enough). But my question is- is whatever you're using here more barebones and "out of the computer" as it seems or am I thinking about it wrong?

@zoid42582 жыл бұрын
@@steezystony my rich roommate in college (I'm very not rich) had a JDXI that I used everyday without realizing how much they cost. But I'd make beats all night onboard on that thing and never even touch a computer. Is that the only thing that'll do that?
@joshnavon2 жыл бұрын
One of the great things about what I'm using (the Maschine MK3 with Maschine as the DAW) is that it's really good with more of a loop-oriented mentality; it's super easy to transform loops you already have live/in real time, and then construct a fuller track by stitching together the various loops you've made (the loops are called "Scenes" in the software.) It can be frustrating at first, just like any DAW, but if you dedicate some time to it, it becomes easier and you'll develop a workflow that works for you. The Maschine MK3 is great because, if you learn it properly, you can do almost anything on the hardware (i.e., not have to be looking at the software/screen all the time). A rule I have right now is that every beat I make I'm either 1) learning a new production technique, or 2) incorporating sounds/plug-ins I've never used before. So the process of creation is always also a process of learning and developing my craft. I don't know if this really answers your question, but I hope it's useful!
@steezystony2 жыл бұрын
@@zoid4258 if you don’t want a computer at all you should go with any of the mpcs, a mashine+ or an sp 404 mk2. There are other things out there but these are the most accesable
